শুভরাত্রি প্রিয়তমা মারিয়া,

জান আমার, কেমন আছো বলোতো আমাকে ছেড়ে!! মনে হয় ভালোই আছো !! না না দুষ্টুমী করলাম তোমার সাথে। আমি জানি আমাকে ছেড়ে তুমি এক মুহুর্তও ভালো থাকতে পারো না।

তারপর কি খবর, সব ভালোতো? আগে বলো তো আমার দুচোখের দুটি তারা পাশা আর মাশা কেমন আছে? ওরা তো এখন ঘুমিয়ে গেছে তাই না!! তুমি বোলো অনেক মিস করি ওদের। কেমন করে যে আমার চোখের আড়ালে বড় হয়ে যাচ্ছে বুঝতেই পারছিনা । ওদের আমার অনেক আদর দিও। আর তোমার জন্য রইলো একটু খানি! কি রাগ করলে নাকি !! নাহ্‌ তোমার জন্যও অনে…ক অনেক আদর।
আমি জানি মারিয়া তুমি এখন আমার মতই আমার কথা ভাবছো বসে বসে। আমার সামরিক পোশাক পরা যে ছবিটা আমাদের বিছানার সাইড টেবিলে রাখা আছে ওটার দিকে এক দৃষ্টিতে তাকিয়ে আছো, তাই না ! মন খারাপ কোরো না, মহড়া শেষে আমি খুব শীঘ্রই তোমাদের কাছে ফিরে আসবো।

শোনো আমরা এখন আছি ব্যারেন্ট সাগরে, ঐ যে যার আগে নাম ছিল মুরমন্সক সাগর। রাশিয়ার উত্তরে আর্কেটিক সাগরের কাছে। আমাদের রাশিয়ান নৌবাহীনি নর্দান ফ্লিটের নৌ মহড়ায় যোগ দিতে এসেছি আমরা । না না চিন্তা কোরো না। ভয়ের কিছু নেই। এটা তো আর যুদ্ধ না। মনে রেখো তুমি একজন কমান্ডারের বৌ। তুমি হবে সাহসী।

সাবমেরিন কে - ১৪১ কুরস্ক এখন শুধুই অতীত

তাছাড়া আমাদের এই বিশাল অত্যাধুনিক নিউক্লিয়ার পাওয়ারে চালানো ক্রুজ মিসাইল সাবমেরিনের নামটিও কিন্ত ভারী সুন্দর। রাশিয়ার কুরস্ক শহর যেখানে পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বড় নৌ যুদ্ধ হয়েছিল ১৯৪৩ সনে। সেই কুরস্ক শহরের নামে এই সাবমেরিন, \’কে – ১৪১ কুরস্ক\’। ন্যাটোর ভাষায় যার নাম অস্কার ২য়। একশ চুয়ান্ন মিটার লম্বা,আর চারতালা সমান উচু এই সাবমেরিনে চালানোর জন্য দুটো পারমানবিক চুল্লি, দুটো স্টিম টারবাইন আর সাত ব্লেডের দুটো টারবাইন আছে চিন্তা করতে পারো কি শক্তিশালী আমাদের \’কুরস্ক\’।

এত বড় সাবমেরিন এর আগে আর কখোনো তৈরী হয়নি । নিকেল, ক্রোম আর স্টেইনলেস স্টিল দিয়ে তৈরী অত্যন্ত মজবুত এই সাবমেরিন মনে রেখো তোমার স্বামী চোখ বুজেই চালাতে পারে।

মারুশা প্রিয়া আমার, তোমার গর্বিত হওয়া উচিৎ যে তুমি পৃথিবী বিখ্যাত একজন নৌ সেনাপতি এবং অস্কার ক্লাস সাবমেরিন ‘কুরস্কের’ অধিনায়কের স্ত্রী।

তুমি হয়তো জানো সোভিয়েত সাম্রাজ্যের পতনের আগে স্নায়ু যুদ্ধের সময় ডিজাইন করা এই সাবমেরিনটি বিরানব্বই সালে তৈরী হয়ে চুরানব্বই সালের ডিসেম্বরে কমিশন পায়। অর্থাৎ রাশিয়ান নৌ বহরে যোগদান করে। তোমার মনে আছে কসোভো যুদ্ধের সময়ও আমি কুরস্কের অধিনায়ক হয়ে ভুমধ্যসাগরে আমেরিকান নৌ বাহীনির সিক্সথ ফ্লিটকে সাফল্যের সাথে অনুসরন করি। মনে রেখো প্রিয়তমা তোমার স্বামী একজন বিখ্যাত নৌ সেনাপতি।

এখন অনেক কাজ বাকি আছে । কাল মহড়া শুরু হবে ভোর থেকে । ঘুম তো আর হবেনা, তবে তুমি ঘুমিয়ে পড়ো লক্ষীটি আর আমাকে নিয়ে সুন্দর একটা স্বপ্ন দেখো। কাল আবার লিখবো। তারপর ফিরে এসে একদিন তোমার হাতে হাতেই এ চিঠি পৌছে দেবো।

মাগো,

কেমন আছো মা? আমি অনেক ভালো আছি।

আমার জন্য তুমি একটুও চিন্তা করবে না বলে দিলাম। আমি আর এখন তোমার ছোট্ট পেত্রুশা নই , অনেক বড় হয়েছি, আঠারো বছর বয়স আমার। এখন থেকে তোমার সব ভাবনা আমার উপর ছেড়ে দাও, অনেক ভেবেছো।

মা মনে আছে বাবা মারা গিয়েছে সেই কত বছর হলো। তুমি তো আমাকে নিয়েই জীবন কাটিয়ে দিলে। একবারও তো নিজের দিকে চাইলে না। আমি ফিরে এসেই এবার তোমাকে মস্কো নিয়ে আসবো। তোমার আর একা একা গ্রামে থাকা লাগবেনা। আমি জানি তুমি তোমার ঐ প্রিয় বান্ধবী ইয়েলেনা খালাকে ছেড়ে আসতে চাইবেনা। তবে এবার এসে কিছুদিন ছুটি নিয়ে তোমার কাছে থাকবো ।

মা আমি এখন যে সাবমেরিনে আছি এটাতে থাকা সৌভাগ্যের ব্যাপার। এত বড় সাবমেরিন আর নেই। আমরা মোট অফিসার আর জুনিয়ার ক্রু মিলে একশ আঠারো জন আছি। তাদের অনেকের সাথে আমার খুব ভালো বন্ধু।অবসরে আমরা অনেক মজা করি।

খাওয়া দাওয়া নিয়ে তুমি একটুও চিন্তা কোরো না মা। এখানে অনেক ভালো ভালো খাবার আছে। তবে তাজা শাক সব্জী নেই আর সব্জীতো আমি পছন্দও করি না তুমি তো জানোই।

মা কাল সকালেই শুরু হবে আমাদের মহড়া। অনেক কাজ বাকী আছে। এরই ফাকে বসে তোমাকে লিখলাম। কমান্ডিং অফিসার দেখলে খুব রাগ হবে। ভীষন মনে পড়ছে তোমার কথা তাই লিখলাম।

নাস্তাশিয়া আমার আদরের নাস্তিয়া, প্রেয়সী আমার।

কেমন আছো বলোতো আমার লক্ষীটি ?

আমি জানিনা তোমার কেমন লাগছে কিন্ত তোমাকে ছেড়ে থাকতে আমার অনেক কষ্ট হচ্ছে যা আমি লিখে বোঝাতে পারবো না। এবার ভালো করে তোমার সাথে দেখা করা বা কথা বলার ও সুযোগ পাইনি, এত ব্যাস্ত ছিলাম।

এবার এসেই কিন্ত তোমার বাবা মা র কাছে বিয়ের প্রস্তাব দেবো আর কোনো কথা নেই। অনেক দিন হয়েছে আমাদের পরিচয়, এবার স্থির হয়ে বসতে হবে দুজন বুঝেছো। এসব নিয়ে আমি অনেক ভাবি যখন কোনো কাজ থাকে না।

আমার জন্য একটুও ভেবো না সোনা। কারন আমাদের যে কমান্ডার উনি সাবমেরিন চালানোর ব্যাপারে খুবই দক্ষ একজন অফিসার। তাছাড়া আমরা তো আর যুদ্ধ করছিনা। কাল আমাদের মহড়ায় আমরা শুধু দুটো ডামী টর্পেডো ছুড়ে মারবো আমাদের নর্দান ফ্লিটের কিরভ ক্লাস যুদ্ধ জাহাজ পিওতর ভেলিকির দিকে। সব কিছু ঠিক ঠাক আছে কি না পরীক্ষা করে দেখার জন্য।

জানো নাস্তিয়া আমাদের সাবমেরিনে কিন্ত অনেক দ্রুতগতিতে চলতে পারে, পানির নীচে এর গতি প্রতি ঘন্টায় ৩২ নটস অর্থাৎ ৩৭ মাইল আর পানির উপর ১৬ নটস অর্থাৎ ১৮ মাইল। আর তিনশ থেকে পাঁচশ মিটার সমুদ্রের গভীরে নামতে পারে। ভাবতে পারো তুমি! এটা তে অংশগ্রহন করতে পেরে তোমার প্রিয়তম অনেক গর্বিত।

আজ এখানে শেষ করি। বোঝোই তো কাল থেকে মহড়া, কত রকম প্রস্ততি, কত্ত ঝামেলা, এরই মাঝে আর থাকতে না পেরে তোমাকে চিঠি লিখতে বসলাম । ভালো থেকো প্রিয়া আমার, অনেক আদর জেনো। কাল আবার সময় পেলে লিখবো।

সুপ্রভাত মারুশকা প্রিয়া আমার,

‘অনেক অনেক আদর আর চুমু তোমার দুচোখের পাতায়। ঘুম ভেঙ্গেছি কি ! মনে হয়না, এখন তো ভোর ৫টা মাত্র। জানি সারারাত আমার কথা ভেবে ভেবে একটু আগেই হয়তো ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছো।

আর একটু পর থেকেই কিন্ত শুরু হবে আমাদের আসল কাজ, লক্ষীটি বুঝতে পারছো তো সবার দায়িত্ব এখন আমার কাঁধে ?

আমার অফিসার আর জুনিয়র ক্রু রা ছাড়াও হেড কোয়ার্টার থেকেও আরো পাঁচজন উর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তা আজ আমাদের সাথে নৌ মহড়ায় অংশগ্রহন করছে।

মারিয়া, তুমিতো ভালো করেই জানো সাফল্য সবার সাথে ভাগ করে নিতে হয়, কিন্ত ব্যর্থতার দায়িত্ব শুধু একা আমারই, কারণ আমি যে অধিনায়ক। প্রার্থনা কোরো যেনো তোমার স্বামী আজ সাফল্যের সাথে এই দায়িত্ব পালন করতে পারে।

কাজ শুরু করার আগেই কেন জানি তোমাকে বলতে ভীষন ইচ্ছে করলো, আমি অনেক মিস করছি তোমাকে, তোমার সান্নিধ্যকে …

সব কাজ শেষ করে আবার লিখবো কেমন …অনেক অনেক ভালো থেকো…

১১. ৫০ ১২ ই অগাস্ট ২০০০

‘নাস্তাশিয়া প্রিয়া আমার,

কি ভয়ংকর এক পরিস্থিতিতে বসে তোমাকে এই চিঠিটি লিখছি তা তুমি স্বপ্নেও কল্পনা করতে পারবে কি না জানি না। কেন জানি বারবার মনে হচ্ছে এটাই তোমার কাছে লেখা আমার শেষ চিঠি।

রাশিয়ান নর্দান ফ্লিটের কিরভ ক্লাস যুদ্ধ জাহাজ পিওতর ভেলিকি

নাস্তিয়া তুমিতো জানোই আজ ভোর থেকে আমাদের নৌ মহড়া শুরু হয়েছে। এখানকার সময় ঠিক সকাল ১১টা ২৮ মিনিটে কমান্ডারের নির্দেশে আমাদের দায়িত্বরত অফিসার প্রথম টর্পেডোটা ছুড়ে মারলো যুদ্ধ জাহাজ ভেলিকির উদ্দেশ্যে।

কিন্ত বুঝতে পারলাম না কেন জানি সেটা লক্ষ্য বস্তুকে আঘাত না করে টিউবের মধ্যেই প্রচন্ডভাবে বিস্ফোরিত হয়ে আমাদের সাবমেরিনের প্রথম অংশটিকে উড়িয়ে নিয়ে গেল নাস্তু। আর সেই সাথে উড়িয়ে নিয়ে গেলো আমাদের সাতজন অফিসারকেও।

ধারনা করছি হাইড্রোজেন পার অক্সাইড জালানী ব্যাবহার করা টর্পেডোটা তে সম্ভবত মরচে ধরে লিক হয়ে গ্যাস জমেছিল। না হলে তো এমন হবার কথা না!

এর পর মুহুর্তেই এসি আর কারেন্টের তার দিয়ে বিসাক্ত গ্যাস এসে পাশের চেম্বারের নেতৃত্বে থাকা ৩৬ জন সিনিয়র অফিসার কে অচেতন করে তোলে। এতে আমাদের জীবন বাচানোর জন্য যে জরুরি ঘন্টা বাজানোর দরকার ছিল তা আর বাজাতে পারেনি তারা। এগুলো কিন্ত খুব দ্রুত ঘটছিল নাস্তু ।

এর ২ মিনিট পরই নিয়ন্ত্রন হারিয়ে আমাদের সাবমেরিনটি সমুদ্রের বুকে সজোরে আছড়ে পরলো। তাতে সবগুলো টর্পেডো এক সাথে বিস্ফোরিত হয়ে ৩৩ ইন্চি পুরু ‘কুরস্কে’র গায়ে বিশাল এক গর্তের সৃষ্টি করলো।আর সেখান দিয়ে সেকেন্ডের মধ্যে ব্যারেন্ট সাগরের হীম শীতল ৯০.০০০ লিটার পানি একবারে ঢুকে চার নং কম্পার্টমেন্ট পর্যন্ত ধ্বংস করে ফেল্লো।

আমাদের কমান্ডার এবং হেড কোয়ার্টারের ৫ জন সিনিয়র অফিসার সহ ঐ রুমগুলোয় যারা যারা ছিল তারা সবাই মুহুর্তের মধ্যেই মারা গেছে নাস্তিয়া।

তুমিতো জানো আমাদের এক একটা কম্পার্টমেন্ট আলাদা আলাদা এবং শক্ত ভাবে লাগানোর সিস্টেম আছে। যার জন্য ৬ থেকে ৯ নং কম্পার্টমেন্ট পর্যন্ত অক্ষত আছে আর আমরা মোট ২৩ জন এই ধাক্কা সামলে এখনো বেঁচে আছি।

জানো ভয়ংকর সেই বিস্ফোরনের সাথে সাথে আমাদের পারমানবিক চুল্লী দুটো অটোমেটিক বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। আর সাথে সাথে নিভে গেছে বাতি আর বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে অক্সিজেন তৈরী আর সরবরাহের সব ব্যবস্থা।

জানিনা আমাদের ভাগ্যে কি আছে। তোমার সাথে ঘর বাঁধার আশা যেনো ক্রমশই আস্তে আস্তে সুদুরে মিলিয়ে যাচ্ছে নাস্তিয়া প্রিয়া আমার।

তুমি হয়তো ভাববে আমি কি করে এগুলো লিখছি ! এই ঘুটঘুটে অন্ধকারে আমি হাতড়ে হাতড়ে অনেক কষ্টে অনুভব করে করে লিখে যাচ্ছি শুধু এটুকু আশায় যদি কখনো তোমার হাতে চিঠিটা পরে!

তুমি কি জানো নাস্তু দুর্ঘটনায় পড়লে তা জানানো আর জায়গাটি চেনানোর জন্য যে বয়া ছেড়ে দেয়ার নিয়ম, সেটাও এখন আর কাজ করছেনা। কি দুর্ভাগ্য আমাদের! সব কিছু দেখে মনে হচ্ছে আমাদের বাঁচার আশা এখন শতকরা ১০ থেকে ২০ ভাগ। পানির উপরে যারা আছে তারা মনে হয় বুঝতেই পারছেনা আমরা কি ভয়ংকর বিপদে পড়েছি। বিস্ফোরনের শব্দ শুনে হয়তো এটাই ভাববে ডেপথ চার্জ করছি।

নাস্তিয়া প্রেয়সী আমার আর লিখতে পারছিনা। প্রার্থনা করো তোমার ভাসিলি যেন তোমার কাছে জীবিত ফিরে আসে। আর যদি না আসি তবে এটুকু শুধু জেনে রেখো সে তোমাকে তার জীবনের চেয়েও বেশী ভালোবাসতো’ ….

১১.৫৫ ১২ই অগাস্ট ২০০০

মাগো, লক্ষী মা আমার,

‘কেমন আছো মা, ভালোতো? কিন্ত মাগো তোমার পেত্রুশা যে ভালো নেই । সংক্ষেপে লিখছি এই চিঠি। জানিনা আর কখোনো তোমাকে চিঠি লিখা হবে কি না! মা আমাদের সাবমেরিন ভয়ংকর এক দুর্ঘটনায় পড়েছে। কিভাবে কি হয়েছে কিছুই জানি না।

এখন আমরা ১১৮ জনের মধ্যে বেঁচে আছি মাত্র ২৩ জন, বাকী সবাই মারা গেছে। । একবারে শেষ রুমটায় বাইরে থেকে সাহায্যের আশায় অন্ধকারে জরুরী দরজার কাছে দাড়িয়ে অপেক্ষা করছি। একজন ক্যপ্টেন লেফটেনেন্ট আমাদের নেতৃত্ব দিচ্ছেন।

কেউ বলছে আমরা দরজা খুলে এক জন এক জন করে ঐ পথ দিয়ে বের হয়ে হীম শীতল সাগরের বুকে ভেসে উঠি। মাত্রই তো ১০০ মিটার নীচে। কিন্ত বলোতো ঐ ঠান্ডা পানিতে তৎক্ষনাৎ সাহায্য না পেলে আমরা কি বেঁচে থাকবো! কেউ সাহস করছেনা এই রিস্ক নিতে। নিশ্চয় কেউ না কেউ আসবেই সাহায্য করতে কি বলো ! তাছাড়া দরজাটা খোলা যাবে কি না তাও বোঝা যাচ্ছেনা!

বেশ অনেক্ষন হলো অপেক্ষা করছি, বাতাসেও অক্সিজেন কমে আসছে। পাশের রুম থেকে চুইয়ে পড়া পানি এসে কোমর পর্যন্ত হয়ে গেছে।

মা এখনও পর্যন্ত তো বাইরে থেকে কেউ এসে দরজায় ধাক্কা দিচ্ছে না! নাকি হয়তো কেউ জানেই না আমাদের এই বিপদের কথা! কিছুই বুঝতে পারছিনা।

বিশেষ এক রকম কার্টিজ জ্বালিয়ে অক্সিজেন তৈরী করছি, কিন্ত এ ভাবে আর কতক্ষন, দুই ঘন্টার মত হয়ে গেলো। ভয়, হতাশা আর আতংকে সারা শরীর জমে আসছে, তারপরও লিখে যাচ্ছি। কে জানে এই হয়তো তোমার কাছে লেখা তোমার আদরের পেত্রুশার শেষ চিঠি।

মাগো তোমার মনে আছে শীতের সময় যখন চারিদিক বরফে ঢেকে যেত তখন আমি গরম চুল্লির তাক থেকে নামতেই চাইতাম না। তুমি কত কষ্ট করে বাইরে থেকে পানি আনতে, দোকানে যেতে।

মা বেঁচে আসলে তোমাকে আর কখনো কিচ্ছু করতে দেবো না। তোমার পেত্রুশা তোমাকে অনেক জ্বালিয়েছে, অনেক কষ্ট দিয়েছে। আর যদি বেঁচে না ফিরি তাকে ক্ষমা করে দিও মা।

একি একজনের হাত থেকে অক্সিজেন তৈরীর কার্টিজ পরে গিয়ে পানিতে আগুন জ্বলে উঠলো ! সেই আগুন তো পানির উপরে থাকা সব অক্সিজেন শুষে নিচ্ছে। কি হবে এখন! দম বন্ধ হয়ে আসছে সবার।

নিকষ কালো কবরের মত অন্ধকারে সবার কান্নাকাটি আস্তে আস্তে স্তিমিত হয়ে আসছে। মাগো আমার ভয়ার্ত, ফ্যাকাশে, ঠান্ডা মুখটায় এমন গরম লাগছে কেন ? এটা কি তোমার উষ্ণ হাতের ছোঁয়া ! ভারি ভালোলাগছে এই উষ্ণতা ! কোথা থেকে আসলো বলোতো’…

শেষ হয়ে আসা অক্সিজেন থেকে গভীর এক শ্বাস টেনে পাগলের মত তাড়াতাড়ি পেত্রুশা গালে হাত বুলিয়ে দেখে, নাহ্‌ মায়ের হাত নয়, এটা তারই চোখ থেকে বের হয়ে আসা অসহায় নোনা গরম জলের ধারা গাল বেয়ে ফোটায় ফোটায় গড়িয়ে পড়ে মিশে যাচ্ছে কুরস্কের খোলে জমতে থাকা ব্যারন্ট সাগরের ঠান্ডা নোনা পানিতে …

ব্যারেন্ট সাগরের একশ মিটার নীচে সেই হতভাগ্য সাবমেরিন ‘কুরস্ক’ দুর্ঘটনা সাড়া পৃথিবী জুড়ে আলোড়ন সৃষ্টি করলেও সেই আবেদন পৌছেনি সে দেশের রাস্ট্রপতির কানে। কারণ তিনি তো তখন কৃ্ষ্ণ সাগরের তীরে অবকাশ যাপন কেন্দ্রে শার্টের হাতা গুটিয়ে বারবিকিউ তৈরীতে ব্যস্ত ।

এই ঘটনার পরপরই বৃটেন এবং নরওয়ে সাহায্য করতে চাইলেও সামরিক গোপনীয়তা ফাঁস হয়ে যাওয়ার ভয়ে উনি তা গ্রহন করতে রাজী হন নি। মানুষের জীবনের চেয়েও যা ছিল তাঁর কাছে অনেক বেশী গুরুত্বপুর্ন।

সেই হতভাগ্য ১১৮ জন নাবিকের মা বাবা স্ত্রী সন্তানের আহাজারি, কান্নাকাটি ও তাকে পাঁচ দিনের আগে টেনে আনতে পারেনি রাজধানীতে, দেওয়াতে পারেনি কোন বিবৃতি, বিদেশী সাহায্য নেয়ার ব্যাপারে বিন্দুমাত্র টলাতে পারেনি কারো করুন আর্তনাদ বা আকুতি।

কুরস্কের ধ্বংসাবশেষ

দীর্ঘ এক বছর পর একটি ডাচ কোম্পানী ‘কুরস্ক’ কে ব্যারেন্ট সমুদ্রের তল থেকে উদ্ধার করে। ডুবুরীরা জরুরী দরজা খুলে দেখতে পায় সেই নয় নম্বর কম্পার্টমেন্টের দরজার কাছে আর অর্ধ ডুবন্ত রুমের পানির মধ্যে ভেসে থাকা ২৩ জন হতভাগ্য নাবিকের মৃতদেহ যারা হয়তো উদ্ধারের আশায় সেখানে জড়ো হয়েছিল।

একজন ক্যপ্টেন লেফটেনেন্টের গায়ে লেগে থাকা একটি ভেজা চিরকুট পাওয়া গিয়ে ছিল যাতে লেখা ছিল,

‘অন্ধকারে অনুভব করে করে লিখছি, যদি কারো হাতে পরে সে আশায়। আমাদের বেচে থাকার আশা শতকরা ১০ থেকে ২০ ভাগ, যারা যারা এখনও বেচে আছে তাদের নাম লিখে রাখছি’।

জানিনা তবে কেন জানি আমার মনে হয় আজও সেখানে মাছ ধরা জেলেদের কানে সমুদ্রের বাতাসের সাথে ফিসফিসিয়ে মিশে আসে বিদ্ধস্ত ‘কুরস্কে’ আটকে পড়া ২৩ জন অসহায় হতাশ নাবিকের করুন চাপা কান্না আর শেষ দীর্ঘশ্বাস।

লেখা সমস্ত চিঠিগুলোই আমার কল্পিত, মনে হয়েছিল তারা যদি কেউ লিখতো তবে এমনটি লিখতো হয়তো।

পরবর্তীতে ‘কুরস্ক’ দুর্ঘটনা নিয়ে বিভিন্ন বিশেষজ্ঞরা যে বিশ্লেষন করেছেন চিঠির মধ্যে উল্লেখ করা টেকনিকাল বিষয়গুলো সেগুলো উপর ভিত্তি করেই লেখা।

সিমলা চুক্তি ও যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার

ভারত ও পাকিস্তানের মধ্যে সিমলা চুক্তি সম্পাদিত হয় ১৯৭২ সালের ৩ জুলাই। ১৯৭১ সালে ডিসেম্বর মাসের ১৭ দিনজুড়ে হয় ভারত-পাকিস্তান যুদ্ধ। এতে তদানীন-ন পূর্ব পাকিস্তানে জয়ী হয় ভারত। হারে পাকিস্তান। সিমলা চুক্তি অনুসারে যুদ্ধ বন্দীদের (POW) পাকিস্তানের হাতে ছেড়ে দেয়া হয়। এদের কাউকেই যুদ্ধাপরাধী হিসেবে বিচার করা হয় না। এ ছাড়া সিমলা চুক্তিতে ভারত ও পাকিস্তান উভয়ই রাজি হয় যে, ভবিষ্যতে তাদের মধ্যে কোনো বিরোধ দেখা দিলে তার নিষ্পত্তি করতে হবে আলোচনার মাধ্যমে, কোনো যুদ্ধের মাধ্যমে নয়। চুক্তিটির নাম হয় সিমলা চুক্তি। কারণ এটি সম্পাদিত হয় ভারতের হিমাচল প্রদেশের রাজধানী সিমলা শহরে। সিমলায় ভারত ও পাকিস্তান এই দুই দেশের প্রতিনিধিরা চুক্তির আগে দিয়ে করেন আলোচনা সভা, যা ইতিহাসে খ্যাত হয়ে আছে সিমলা সম্মেলন হিসেবে। এই সম্মেলনে ভারতীয় পক্ষের নেতৃত্ব দেন ভারতের তদানীন-ন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী ইন্দিরা গান্ধী। আর পাকিস্তানের পক্ষের নেতৃত্ব করেন তদানীন-ন প্রেসিডেন্ট মোহাম্মদ জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টো। এই সম্মেলনে বাংলাদেশকে ডাকাই হয়নি। বাংলাদেশকে ডাকা হয়নি এর একটা কারণ ছিল, জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টোর আপত্তির কারণে। ভুট্টো আপত্তি তোলেন, ১৯৭১-এর যুদ্ধ হয়েছে ভারত-পাকিস্তানের মধ্যে। বাংলাদেশ নামে তখন কোনো রাষ্ট্র ছিল না।
পাকিস্তান বাংলাদেশের সাথে কোনো যুদ্ধ করেনি। যুদ্ধ করেছে ভারতের সাথে। ঢাকায় রমনার মাঠে পাকিস্তানের পূর্বাঞ্চলের সেনাপতি লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল এ এ কে নিয়াজী ১৬ ডিসেম্বর আত্মসমর্পণ করেন কেবল ভারতীয় সেনাবাহিনীর পূর্বাঞ্চলীয় প্রধান লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল জগজিৎ সিং অরোরার কাছে। তিনি মুক্তিযুদ্ধের কোনো সেনানায়কের কাছে পৃথকভাবে আত্মসমর্পণ করেননি। তাই সিমলা সম্মেলনে বাংলাদেশের কোনো প্রতিনিধি থাকতে পারে না। যুদ্ধ বাংলাদেশ-পাকিস্তানের মধ্যে হয়নি। হয়েছে কেবল ভারত-পাকিস্তানের মধ্যে। জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টোর কথায় যুক্তি ছিল। প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের সময় পরাজিত হয়েছিল জার্মানি। জার্মান সৈন্য পৃথকভাবে আত্মসমর্পণ করেছিল সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন, মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র, গ্রেট ব্রিটেন ও ফ্রান্সের সেনাপতিদের কাছে। অন্য দিকে দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধে জাপান পরাজিত হয়ে আত্মসমর্পণ করেছিল সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন, মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র, গ্রেট ব্রিটেন, চীন, নেদারল্যান্ডস, আস্ট্রেলিয়া ও নিউজিল্যান্ডের কাছে পৃথক পৃথকভাবে। অন্য দিকে ১৯৭১-এ পাক বাহিনী কেবলই তদানীন-ন পূর্ব পাকিস্তানে আত্মসমর্পণ করেছিল এককভাবে ভারতীয় বাহিনীর কাছে। ভারত সে দিন বাংলাদেশের মুক্তিবাহিনীর সেনাপতি জেনারেল মোহাম্মদ আতাউল গনি ওসমানীকে আসতে দেয়নি রমনার মাঠে। যে কারণেই হোক, তাকে আটকে রাখা হয়েছিল কুমিল্লার ক্যান্টনমেন্টে। ভারত কেন এটা করেছিল তার কোনো ব্যাখ্যা এখন পর্যন্ত পাওয়া যায়নি। আর এর ফলে ১৯৭১ সালে যুদ্ধ খাতাপত্রে পরিচিত হয়ে আছে কেবল ভারত-পাকিস্তান যুদ্ধ হিসেবে। যদিও ১৯৭১ সালের যুদ্ধে বাংলাদেশের মানুষের সাহায্য-সহযোগিতা ছাড়া পাকিস্তানের সাথে যুদ্ধে কখনই ভারতের পক্ষে জেতা সম্ভব হতো না।

১৯৭১ সালের ডিসেম্বরে যে যুদ্ধ হয়, তা শেষ হয় ১৬ ডিসেম্বরে। ভারত একপক্ষীয়ভাবে ১৭ ডিসেম্বর ঘোষণা করে পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের যুদ্ধবিরতি। ভারতের ব্রিগেডিয়ার আর এন মিশ্র যুদ্ধশেষে সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, মুক্তিবাহিনীর সহযোগিতা ছাড়া বাংলাদেশে যুদ্ধে জেতা সহজ হতো না। বাংলাদেশের মানুষ আমাদের নানাভাবে সহযোগিতা করেছেন। তাই আমরা যুদ্ধে বিজয়ী হতে পেরেছি। বাংলাদেশের মানুষ আমাদের বলেছে কোথায় কিভাবে পাক বাহিনী যুদ্ধে অবস্থান নিয়েছে। তারা দিয়েছেন আমাদের গোপন সংবাদ। এসব সংবাদ যুদ্ধে ভারতীয় সৈন্যকে বিশেষভাবে সাহাষ্য করেছে। বাংলাদেশের মানুষ ভারতীয় সৈন্যকে করেছে খাদ্য সরবরাহ। নৌকা দিয়ে সাহায্য করেছে নদী পার হতে। তাদের সাহায্য-সহযোগিতা ভারতের সেনাবাহিনীকে দিয়েছে মনোবল, দিয়েছে গতি। আর তাই ভারতীয় সৈন্য মরেছে কম। অনেক সহজেই যুদ্ধ করতে পেরেছে পাক বাহিনীর সাথে। মিশ্রর এই বিবৃতি থেকে সুস্পষ্ট হয়ে ওঠে ১৯৭১ সালের লড়াইয়ের চেহারা। কিন্তু পাক বাহিনী যেহেতু আত্মসমর্পণ করেছিল কেবল ভারতীয় সেনাদের হাতে, তাই যুদ্ধটা বিশ্ববাসীর কাছে এ সময় খ্যাত হয় কেবল পাক-ভারত যুদ্ধ হিসেবে। আর সিমলা চুক্তি সম্পন্ন হয় কেবল ভারত ও পাকিস্তানের মধ্যে। এতে বাংলাদেশ কোনো অংশ নিতে পারে না। কেন ১৯৭১-এর যুদ্ধে ভারত মুক্তিযুদ্ধের অধিনায়ককে রমনার ময়দানে আসতে দেয়নি সেটা আমরা বলেছি, এখনো আছে রহস্যময় হয়ে। তবে এর একটা কারণ হতে পারে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের চাপ। মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ১৩ ডিসেম্বর তাদের বিমানবাহী যুদ্ধজাহাজ এন্টারপ্রাইজকে বাহরাইন থেকে পাঠায় বঙ্গোপসাগরে। অন্য দিকে ভিয়েতনাম থেকে পাঠায় তাদের সপ্তম নৌবহরের একাধিক জাহাজ। এ সময় আমি ছিলাম কলকাতায়। কলকাতায় মানুষকে বলতে শুনেছি, মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট নিক্সন নাকি বলেছেন তদানীন-ন পূর্ব পাকিস্তানে যুদ্ধ থামাতে। না হলে মার্কিন সৈন্য অবতরণ করবে তদানীন-ন পূর্ব পাকিস্তানে। তারা ধরে নেবে পূর্ব পাকিস্তান হচ্ছে পাকিস্তানের অংশ। পাকিস্তানের সাথে আছে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের গোপন সামরিক চুক্তি। যাতে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে পাকিস্তানকে প্রতিরক্ষার ব্যাপারে সাহায্য করতে বাধ্য। মার্কিন চাপ ১৯৭১- এর ডিসেম্বরের যুদ্ধকে প্রশমিত করেছিল। মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র অবশ্য বাধা হয়ে দাঁড়ায়নি পৃথক বাংলাদেশ রাষ্ট্র গঠনে। তার ছিল ভিন্ন রকম পরিকল্পনা। সে ভেবেছিল বাংলাদেশে অনেক সহজে সে তার প্রভাব বিস্তার করতে পারবে। আর বাংলাদেশ হবে পাকিস্তানের চেয়ে তার অনুগত রাষ্ট্র। শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান রাজনীতি করেছেন মার্কিন সমর্থনে। মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র তাই ধরেই নিয়েছিল একটা পৃথক বাংলাদেশ হবে তার জন্য বিশেষ সহায়ক রাষ্ট্র; বৈরী রাষ্ট্র নয়। ১৯৭২ সালের ১৫ মার্চ বাংলাদেশ থেকে ভারতীয় সেনাবাহিনী স্বদেশে প্রত্যাবর্তন করে। এর মূলেও ছিল মার্কিন চাপ। ভারত স্বেচ্ছায় বাংলাদেশ থেকে তার সৈন্য সরায়নি। মার্কিন চাপেই সে বাধ্য হয় সৈন্য সরিয়ে নিতে। এসব কথা শুনেছি, একাধিক লোকের মুখে, কলকাতা থেকে দেশে ফেরার পর।

সোভিয়েত জাহাজ থেকে টর্পেডো ছুড়ে ডুবিয়ে দেয়া হয় পাকিস্তানের ডুবোজাহাজ গাজীকে

আমি চাকরি করতাম রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে। সেখানে অনেক অধ্যাপকের কাছে অনেক কথা শুনেছি। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ছিলেন পাকিস্তানের সমর্থক অধ্যাপক। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ছিলেন মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সমর্থক অধ্যাপক। আর ছিলেন ভারতের সমর্থক অধ্যাপকও। নানা রকম আলোচনা শুনেছি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মহলে। এ থেকে যে ধারণা আমার মনে গড়ে উঠেছে, তা হলো ১৯৭১-এর যুদ্ধে শেষ পর্যন্ত থেকেছে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের চাপ খুবই প্রবলভাবে। ১৯৭১-এর যুদ্ধের গতি প্রকৃতিকে বিশ্লেষণ করতে হলে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রকে বাদ দিয়ে করা যায় না। অন্য দিকে ১৯৭১-এ হয় সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন ও ভারতের মধ্যে বিশেষ মৈত্রী চুক্তি। এই যুদ্ধে তদানীন-ন সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়নেরও ছিল বিশেষ ভূমিকা। সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন ভারতকে যুদ্ধে সাহায্য করেছিল নেপথ্যে। প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশ সরকার সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়নকে কথা দেয় যে, বাংলাদেশ প্রতিষ্ঠিত হলে চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরে সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন পেতে পারবে নৌঘাঁটি গড়ার অধিকার; যদি সে সেটা চায়। চট্টগ্রাম বন্দর থাকবে সোভিয়েত নিয়ন্ত্রণে। সোভিয়েত নৌবাহিনীর জাহাজ ছিল দক্ষিণ ভারতের বিশাখাপত্তম বন্দরে। সোভিয়েত জাহাজ থেকে টর্পেডো ছুড়ে ডুবিয়ে দেয়া হয় পাকিস্তানের ডুবোজাহাজ গাজীকে। গাজী আসলে পাকিস্তানের জাহাজ ছিল না। মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র এটা পাকিস্তানকে ধার দিয়েছিল ১৯৬৪ সালে। নৌযুদ্ধে সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন অংশ নিয়েছিল। রুশ সেনাপতিরা ১৯৭১-এ ভারতকে রণকৌশল গঠনে দিয়েছিল বিশেষ সাহায্য-সহযোগিতা। পাকিস্তানের যুদ্ধ কেবল হয়ে থাকেনি ভারত-পাকিস্তানের মধ্যে যুদ্ধ। ১৯৭১-এর যুদ্ধ পরোক্ষভাবে হয়েছিল পাকিস্তান-সোভিয়েত যুদ্ধ। রণনীতিতে ভারতীয় সৈন্য উন্নত কৌশল প্রদর্শন করতে পেরেছিল সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন থেকে আসা বিশেষজ্ঞদের কারণে। অর্থাৎ ১৯৭১-এর পাক- ভারত যুদ্ধ কেবল ভারত-পাকিস্তানের মধ্যকার যুদ্ধ ছিল না। এতে জড়িয়ে পড়েছিল সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন ও মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রও। ইন্দিরা গান্ধী চাননি যুদ্ধ একটা বৃহত্তর আন্তর্জাতিক রূপ পরিগ্রহ করুক। ভারত তাই যুদ্ধকে সংক্ষিপ্ত করে। আর চায় না পাকিস্তানকে পুরোপুরি ধ্বংস করে দিতে। সে খুশি হয় সাবেক পাকিস্তানকে দ্বিখণ্ডিত করতে পেরেই। আজ যখন আমি ’৭১-এর যুদ্ধকে ফিরে দেখি, তখন এ রকমই মনে হয় আমার কাছে।
সিমলা চুক্তি নিয়ে বেশ কিছু আলোচনা করেছেন ভারতের একজন বিশিষ্ট রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তিত্ব পিলু মোদি (Piloo Mody)। পিলু মোদি একটা বই লেখেন ১৯৭৩ সালে। বইটির নাম Zulfi my Friend|। পিলু মোদি ছিলেন জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টোর বাল্যবন্ধু। তিনি তার বইয়ে জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টো সম্পর্কে অনেক কিছু লিখেছেন। অনেক কিছু লিখেছেন সিমলা সম্মেলন সম্পর্কে। যা থেকে পাওয়া সম্ভব ইতিহাস লেখার বেশ কিছু উপকরণ। পিলু মোদি হিন্দু সমপ্রদায়ভুক্ত ব্যক্তি নন। তিনি হলেন ভারতীয় পারসি (Parsi) ধর্ম সমপ্রদায়ভুক্ত ব্যক্তি। ভারতে পারসি সমপ্রদায় জনসংখ্যার দিক খেকে খুবই নগণ্য। কিন্তু অর্থনীতি ও রাজনীতির ক্ষেত্রে এরা হলেন খুবই প্রতিপত্তিশালী। ভারতের সবচেয়ে বড় শিল্পপতি ছিলেন জমসেদজী টাটা (তাতা)। যিনি প্রতিষ্ঠা করে গেছেন টাটা কোম্পানি। ভারতের রাজনীতিতে পারসিরা রেখেছেন বিশেষ প্রভাব। ভারতের বিখ্যাত রাজনৈতিক দাদাভাই নৌরজি ছিলেন পারসি। নৌরজি প্রথম ভারতীয়দের মধ্যে ব্রিটিশ পার্লামেন্টে নির্বাচিত হন। এটা ছিল সে সময় একটা বিরাট ঘটনা। মিনুমাসানি ছিলেন ভারতের একজন বিশিষ্ট সমাজতান্ত্রিক নেতা। তিনি তার লেখার মাধ্যমে ভারতীয় রাজনীতিতে রেখেছেন বিশেষ প্রভাব। ভারতের বিখ্যাত বৈজ্ঞানিক হোমি জাহাঙ্গীর ভবা হলেন পারসি সমপ্রদায়ভুক্ত। মহাজাগতিক রশ্মি নিয়ে এর গবেষণা হয়ে আছে খুবই খ্যাত। ১৯৭১-এর যুদ্ধের সর্বাধিনায়ক এস এইচ এফ জে মানেক শ (পরে মার্শাল) ছিলেন পারসিক সমাজভুক্ত। পিলু মোদি ছিলেন ভারতীয় পার্লামেন্টের সদস্য এবং ভারতীয় স্বতন্ত্র দলের একজন খুবই নামকরা নেতা। ১৯৭২ সালে যখন সিমলা সম্মেলন হচ্ছিল তখন তিনি যান সিমলায়। দেখা করেন ভুট্টোর সাথে। তিনি তাকে দেন বহুবিধ পরামর্শ। এ রকম করাটা তার পক্ষে সম্ভব হয়েছিল তার বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিত্বের কারণেই। ইন্দিরা গান্ধী তাকে বিরত রাখতে পারেননি ভুট্টোর সাথে দেখা ও উপদেশ প্রদান করা থেকে। অন্য কোনো ব্যক্তি হলে তাকে চিহ্নিত হতে হতো ভারতীয় আইনানুসারে দেশদ্রোহী হিসেবে। কিন্তু পিলু মোদিকে তা হতে হয়নি। পিলু মোদি তার বইয়ে বলেছেন- ইন্দিরা গান্ধী সিমলা সম্মেলনে ওঠান যুদ্ধবন্দীদের মধ্যে কিছুসংখ্যক ব্যক্তিকে যুদ্ধাপরাধী হিসেবে বিচার করার প্রসঙ্গটি। জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টো বলেন, এতে তার আপত্তি নেই। কিন্তু বিচার হতে হবে জেনেভা কনভেনশন অনুসারে। জেনেভা কনভেনশন অনুসারে যুদ্ধবন্দী হত্যা হলো অন্যতম যুদ্ধাপরাধ। জেনেভা কনভেনশনানুসারে যুদ্ধবন্দীকে হত্যা করা যায় না। কিন্তু পূর্ব পাকিস্তানে ইপিআর তাদের হাতে ধরা পড়া পাক বাহিনী সৈন্যকে বন্দী অবস্থায় হত্যা করেছে। জেনেভা কনভেনশনানুসারে হতে হবে তাদের বিচার। পিলু মোদি তার বইয়ে বলেছেন, যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের কথা উঠতে পারত কাদেরিয়া বাহিনী সম্পর্কে। কাদেরিয়া বাহিনীর নেতা কাদের সিদ্দিকী অমানবিকভাবে নির্বিচারে বিহারি হত্যা করেছেন। সেটাও পড়তে পারে যুদ্ধাপরাধেরই মধ্যে। ইন্দিরা গান্ধী তাই যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার সম্পর্কে আর বেশি দূর অগ্রসর হতে চাননি। কারণ যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার করতে গেলে দেখা দিত সমূহ জটিলতা। যুদ্ধাপরাধ ঘটেছে দুই পক্ষ থেকেই। এক পক্ষ থেকে নয়।
আন্তর্জাতিক নিয়মে করতে হতো যুদ্ধাপরাধের বিচার। আর আন্তর্জাতিক নিয়মে বিচার হলে, বিচারে পাকিস্তান পেতে পারত অধিক সুবিধা। এ কথা বলেছেন, পিলু মোদি তার লেখা Zulfi my Friend বইয়ে। পিলু মোদির মতে, জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টো ও শেখ মুজিবের মধ্যে রাজনৈতিক বিরোধ ছিল যথেষ্ট গভীর। জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টো ছিলেন বিশেষভাবেই দ্বিজাতিতত্ত্বে বিশ্বাসী। জুলফিকার আলী ভুট্টো ছিলেন সিন্ধি। কিন্তু তিনি কখনোই তোলেননি সিন্ধি জাতীয়তাবাদের ধ্বনি। কিন্তু শেখ মুজিব চেয়েছেন পাকিস্তানের মধ্যে থেকে বাঙালি জাতীয়তাবাদের ধ্বনি তুলে পাকিস্তানের প্রধানমন্ত্রী হতে। জনাব ভুট্টো মেনে নিতে পারেননি পাকিস্তানে বাঙালি জাতীয়তাবাদকে। তিনি মনে করেন বাঙালি জাতীয়তাবাদ দেবে সাবেক পাকিস্তানকে দ্বিখণ্ডিত করে। পরবর্তী ঘটনা ভুট্টোর ধারণাকে, পিলু মোদির মতে, যথার্থ প্রমাণ করেছে।
সিমলা চুক্তি অনুসারে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার প্রসঙ্গ আর ওঠা উচিত ছিল না। কিন্তু এখন নতুন করে উঠছে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচার প্রসঙ্গ। এর একটি কারণ, বিশ্বরাজনীতির ধারা বিশেষভাবেই বদলে গেছে। মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র এক সময় তার পররাষ্ট্রনীতি নির্ধারণ করেছে কমিউনিজম রোধের লক্ষ্য সামনে রেখে। এখন তাকে পেয়ে বসেছে জঙ্গি ইসলাম আতঙ্কে। বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশে যাদের যুদ্ধাপরাধী হিসেবে বিচার করা হচ্ছে তাদের প্রায় সবাই সাধারণভাবে পরিচিত ইসলামপন্থী হিসেবে। ১৯৭১ সালে এরা সবাই ছিলেন অত্যন্ত তরুণ। এরা কতটা যুদ্ধাপরাধের সাথে জড়িত ছিলেন সেটা তর্কের বিষয়। শেখ মুজিব চাননি এদের বিচার করতে।কিন্তু এখন এদের উঠতে হচ্ছে বিচারের কাঠগড়ায়। মনে হচ্ছে, সারা দেশে অনেক যুদ্ধাপরাধী আছে। আর তারা হয়ে উঠেছে বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতির প্রধান সমস্যা। কয়েক মাস আগে বাংলাদেশে এসেছিলেন ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী মনমোহন সিং। মনমোহন সিং বাংলাদেশে সফরে আসার ঠিক আগে দিয়ে বলেন যে, বাংলাদেশ ভরে উঠেছে মুসলিম মৌলবাদে। মুসলিম মৌলবাদী দল জামায়াতে ইসলামীকে সমর্থন করে বাংলাদেশের শতকরা ২৫ ভাগ মানুষ। পরে তিনি তার এই বক্তব্যকে প্রত্যাহার করে নেন। মনে হচ্ছে জামায়াতকে ধ্বংস করার লক্ষ্যে বিশেষ করে উঠানো হচ্ছে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের প্রসঙ্গটি। এ ক্ষেত্রে আছে ভারতেরও একটি ভূমিকা। বর্তমান আওয়ামী লীগ সরকার ভারত ও মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সমর্থন লাভের আশায় উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের। অথচ ১৯৭২-এর সিমলা চুক্তি অনুসারে এ রকম বিচার অনুষ্ঠান হওয়া উচিত ছিল না। সিমলা চুক্তির কোনো মূল্য এখন আর নেই।

বিতর্কিত লেখক ও সাংবাদিক সালাউদ্দীন শোয়েব চৌধুরী দেশ ও ইসলাম বিরোধী প্রচারণায় এবার তৈরী করছেন ব্ল্যাক (Black) নামে একটি সিনেমা। যার মাধ্যমে তিনি শরীয়া আইন, জিহাদ, বোরখা, পাথর ছুঁড়ে মারা, বহু বিবাহ, বাল্য বিবাহ ও শিরচ্ছেদের প্রসঙ্গ টেনে ইসলামের বিরুদ্ধে দেশ বিদেশে জনমত তৈরী করতে চাচ্ছেন। ব্ল্যাক সিনেমার প্রতিপাদ্য বিষয় নিয়ে কথা বলার আগে এ ছবির নির্মাতা সম্পর্কে কিছু তথ্য জাতিকে জানানোর প্রয়োজন বোধ করছি। বিতর্কিত লেখক ও সাংবাদিক সালাউদ্দীন শোয়েব চৌধুরী দেশ ও ইসলাম বিরোধী প্রচারণায় এবার তৈরী করছেন ব্ল্যাক (Black) নামে একটি সিনেমা ''Weekly Blitz' এর মাধ্যমেই সালাউদ্দীন শোয়েব চৌধুরী তার ইসলাম বিদ্বেষী মনোভাব প্রকাশ করতে থাকেন বিশেষকরে ইসলামের অন্যতম বিধান জিহাদের বিরুদ্ধে বিষোদগারমূলক বিভিন্ন লেখার মাধ্যমে সালাউদ্দীন শোয়েব চৌধুরীর সাপ্তাহিক পত্রিকাটি মানুষের কাছে ইসলাম বিরোধী পত্রিকা (Anti-Islamic Newspaper) হিসেবে পরিচিতি পায় ‘Weekly Blitz’ পত্রিকার সম্পাদক হিসেবে সালাউদ্দীন শোয়েব চৌধুরী বেশ পরিচিত। ”Weekly Blitz’ এর মাধ্যমেই তিনি তার ইসলাম বিদ্বেষী মনোভাব প্রকাশ করতে থাকেন। ইসলামের বিভিন্ন বিষয়ের বিরুদ্ধে তার লেখনীতে কখনো ছেদ পড়েনি। বিশেষকরে ইসলামের অন্যতম বিধান জিহাদের বিরুদ্ধে বিষোদগারমূলক বিভিন্ন লেখার মাধ্যমে তার সাপ্তাহিক পত্রিকাটি মানুষের কাছে ইসলাম বিরোধী পত্রিকা (Anti-Islamic Newspaper) হিসেবে পরিচিতি পায়। তিনি ১৯৮৯ সনে সাংবাদিকতা শুরু করেন সোভিয়েট ইউনিয়নের ’তাস’ (TASS) নিউজ এজেন্সিতে। ১৯৯১ সনে তিনি ইটার তাস (Iter-Tass) নিউজ এজেন্সির বাংলাদেশ শাখার প্রধান সংবাদদাতা হিসেবে পদোন্নতি লাভ করেন। সোভিয়েট ইউনিয়নের পতনের পর বিভিন্ন দেশে ইটার তাসের কার্যক্রম বন্ধ হয়ে গেলে তিনি ১৯৯৬ সনে ওখান থেকে চাকুরী ছেড়ে বাংলাদেশে প্রথম প্রাইভেট টিভি চ্যানেল ২১শে টিভি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। তখনকার সময়ে একুশে টিভিও ইসলাম বিরোধী টিভি হিসেবে পরিচিতি পায়। বাংলা ও ইংরেজীতে তার কয়েকটি বই প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। তার মধ্যে ২০০৭ সালে প্রকাশিত হওয়া একটি বইয়ের শিরোণাম হচ্ছে- “Injustice & Jihad” (অবিচার এবং জিহাদ)। বইয়ের নাম দিয়েই অনুধাবন করা যায় ইসলাম নিয়ে তার কত জ্বালাপোড়া! বইটি ২০০৮ সালে Non Sono Colpevole নামে ইতালিয়ান ভাষায়ও প্রকাশিত হয়। ২০০৯ সনে Inside Madrassa (মাদরাসার অভ্যন্তরে) নামক বইটি প্রকাশিত হয়। উক্ত বইয়ের মাধ্যমে তিনি মাদরাসার বিরুদ্ধে বিভিন্নভাবে বিষোদগার করেন। তিনি বাংলাদেশে ইসরাইল ভিত্তিক আন্তর্জাতিক সাহিত্য ফোরাম গঠন করেন। বাংলাদেশে আল-কায়েদা সংগঠনের বিস্তার সম্পর্কে তিনি অনেক আজগুবি লেখাও উপহার দেন। তার লেখনীতে বিভিন্ন মুসলিম দেশে ইসরাইল বিরোধীদের মনোভাব সম্পর্কেও তথ্য উঠে আসে। ইসলাম বিদ্বেষী এই বাম সাংবাদিকের আসল বন্ধু হচ্ছে- ইসরাইল ও তার দোসররা। এদেশে চৌধুরী সাহেব নিন্দিত হলেও ইসলাম বিরোধী শক্তি তাকে স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছে এবং দিচ্ছে। ২০০৫ সনে PEN USA তাকে মুক্ত লেখনীর জন্য পুরুস্কৃত করে। ২০০৬ সনের মে মাসে American Jewish Committee তাকে পুরুস্কৃত করতে চাইলে তৎকালীন সরকার তাকে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র যেতে বাধা প্রদান করে। ২০০৭ সনে তাকে Prince Albert of Monaco এওয়ার্ড প্রদান করা হয়। ইসরাইলের একান্ত দোসর শোয়েব চৌধুরীকে ইসরাইল-মোসাদ কানেকশন ও দেশ বিরোধী তৎপরতার দায়ে ২৯ নভেম্বর ২০০৩ সনে তৎকালীন জিয়া আন্তর্জাতিক বিমান বন্দর (বর্তমানে হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমান বন্দর) থেকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়। তিনি ১ ডিসেম্বর ২০০৩ তেলআবিবে অনুষ্ঠিতব্য এক কনফারেন্সে যোগদানের উদ্দেশ্যে ঢাকা ত্যাগ করার চেষ্টা করছিলেন। বিমান বন্দরে ইমিগ্রেশন পুলিশ তার লাগেজে বাংলাদেশের অভ্যন্তরীণ তথ্য সম্বলিত অনেক ডকুমেন্ট ও সিডি উদ্ধার করে। বাংলাদেশে সংখ্যালঘুদের উপর অত্যাচার ও আল-কায়েদার নেটওয়ার্ক সম্পর্কিত নানান ভৌতিক তথ্যও ছিল তাতে। তার গ্রেফতার সম্পর্কিত খবর পরের দিন ইংরেজী পত্রিকা Daily Star পত্রিকায় ফলাও করে ছাপা হয়। Man with ‘Mosad links’ held at ZIA শিরোনামের খবরে বলা হয় : A man was arrested at Zia International Airport yesterday morning on his way to Tel Aviv for his alleged Mossad connection. A leader of Bangladesh chapter of ‘Iflaq’, a Haifa-based organisation, Salauddin Shoib Chowdhury was carrying compact discs (CD‘s) and papers containing write-ups on some sensitive issues including ‘minority repression and the al Qaeda network in Bangladesh’, police said. Shoaib was managing director of the planned Inquilab Television until he was sacked last year……. এরপর চৌধুরী সাহেব একাধারে ১৭ মাস জেল খাটেন। চৌধুরী সাহেব কিছুদিন ইনকিলাব পত্রিকার সাংবাদিক হিসেবেও কাজ করেছেন। তিনি ইনকিলাব টিভি প্রতিষ্ঠা করার জন্যও কাজ করেছেন। তিনি ইনকিলাব টিভির এম.ডি হিসেবে নিযুক্ত হন। ইনকিলাব টিভিতে তার প্রায় এক মিলিয়ন টাকার মোট ৩০% শেয়ার ছিল বলে দাবী করেন। ইনকিলাব পত্রিকা যখন জাতীয়তাবাদী ও ইসলামী শক্তির পক্ষে কাজ করছিল, ঠিক সেই মুহূর্তেও ইনকিলাব টিভির সর্বোচ্চ পদে ঘাপটি মেরে ছিল দেশ ও জাতির শত্রু এবং ইসরাইলের এ চর! এ ঘটনা থেকে কি বি.এন.পি. ও ইসলামী সংগঠন বা প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো কোনো শিক্ষা নেবে? ১৯৬৫ সনে সিলেটে জন্ম নেয়া এ নরাধম, পাপিষ্ট, দেশদ্রোহী ও তার সাঙ্গপাঙ্গরা এখনও নির্বিঘ্নে তাদের কলুষিত কার্যক্রম চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে। এবার তারা তৈরী করতে যাচ্ছে ব্ল্যাক (Black) নামে একটি সিরিজ সিনেমা। যা তার ভাষ্যমতে, এ বছরের এপ্রিল মাসে (১৪১৮ বাংলা নববর্ষে) পশ্চিমবঙ্গে মুক্তি পেয়েছে। যার মূল লক্ষ্য হচ্ছে ইসলামকে বিশ্ববাসীর কাছে বিকৃতভাবে তুলে ধরা। বাংলা ভাষায় সিনেমাটি নির্মাণ করা হলেও ইংরেজী, হিন্দি, উর্দূ ও ফ্রেন্স ভাষায় এর সাব টাইটেল লিখে আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে ছাড়া হয়েছে। ছবিতে নায়িকা হিসেবে কাজ করেছেন মডেল কন্যা শতাব্দি। ব্ল্যাক ছবিতে নায়িকা হিসেবে কাজ করেছেন মডেল কন্যা শতাব্দি ছবিটি নিয়ে নায়িকা শতাব্দি বলেন: “ছবির স্ক্রিপ্টে খুবই ভালো লেগেছে আমাকে। শোয়েব চৌধুরী ও তার দলের মত আন্তর্জাতিক মানের টিমের সাথে কাজ করতে পারা আমার জন্য অত্যন্ত সম্মানের”। ছবিতে গান গেয়েছেন সংগীত শিল্পী রুনা লায়লা, আগুন, এস.আই টুটুল, অনিমা ডি কস্তা ও ফকির শাহাবুদ্দিন। কী আছে এই সিনেমায়? শান্তিগ্রাম বাংলাদেশের প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলের একটি গ্রাম। পয়ত্রিশ বছর আগে এখানে বিভিন্ন ধর্ম-বর্ণের লোকজন বেশ শান্তিতে বসবাস করত। কিন্তু কয়েক দশক থেকে পুরো গ্রামে ইসলাম পন্থীদের ইসলামী কর্মকান্ড ব্যাপকভাবে বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। মসজিদ মাদরাসার হুজুরদের প্রভাব দিন দিন ব্যাপকভাবে বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। এরা নিজেরাই শরীয়া আইন চালু করে জনগণের জীবন যাত্রা বিভীষিকাময় করে তুলেছে। মোল্লারা গ্রামের পুরুষদের একাধিক বিবাহে উৎসাহ দিচ্ছে। এভাবে একাধিক স্ত্রী যাদের আছে তারা সেইসব স্ত্রীদের সাথে দাসীর মতো আচরণ করছে এবং সেই একাধিক স্ত্রীদের কৃষিকাজসহ নানা কাজে লাগাচ্ছে। কিন্তু যখন কোন মহিলা অসুস্থ হচ্ছে, তখন তাকে হাসপাতাল বা ডাক্তারের কাছে যেতে দেওয়া হচ্ছে না এই অজুহাতে যে হাসপাতালগুলো শয়তানের আড্ডাখানা যেখানে নারী-পুরুষ পর্দা ছাড়াই অবাধে মেলামেশা করে। গ্রামে মোল্লা ও মাতব্বরদের সমন্বয়ে শরীয়া কমিটি করে দোররা মারাসহ বিভিন্ন শারীরিক শাস্তির ব্যবস্থা করা হচ্ছে নিয়মিত। এই গ্রামেই বাস করে কিছু বাউল সম্প্রদায়ের লোক। এরা মূলত: হিন্দু ও সূফী মুসলিম গোত্রের মানুষ। বাউলরা ধর্মের সম্প্রীতির বাণী শুনাতো। গ্রামের উগ্র ইসলামপন্থীদের প্রভাবে তাদের জীবনেও নেমে আসে বিভীষিকা। মোল্লারা তাদের আল্টিমেটাম দেয়, হয় মুসলিম হও না হয় এই এলাকা ত্যাগ কর। এদিকে গ্রামে ইসলামী এনজিওদের প্রভাব দিন দিন বৃদ্ধি পায়। তারা হিন্দু, খৃষ্টান, বৌদ্ধসহ অন্যান্য অমুসলিমদের ইসলাম গ্রহণের জন্য আর্থিক প্রলোভন দেয়, ঋণ দেয়। তাতে কাজ না হলে ইসলাম গ্রহণ করতে চাপ দেয়। এতেও কাজ না হলে ঐসব অমুসলিম পরিবারের যুবক-যুবতীদের অপহরণ করে জোরপূর্বক ইসলাম গ্রহণে বাধ্য করে। এভাবে একদিন দেখা যায় যে, গ্রামটি অমুসলিমশূন্য হয়ে গেল। ব্ল্যাক সিনেমায় দেখানো হচ্ছে কিভাবে জোরপূর্বক চাপিয়ে দেয়া শরীয়া আইন মানুষের জীবনকে দুর্বিষহ করে তুলছে সাথে সাথে সংখ্যালঘু অমুসলিম সম্প্রদায়কে নির্মূল করছে। শোয়েব চৌধুরীর এই সিরিজ সিনেমাটি যে দেশ ও ইসলাম বিরোধী ভয়ানক প্রোপাগান্ডার অংশ, এতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই। বিশ্বের দরবারে বাংলাদেশ ও মুসলিম জনগোষ্ঠিকে হেয় করার জন্য এই জঘন্য ঘৃণ্য প্রচেষ্টা। ইসলাম সম্পর্কে যার বিন্দুমাত্র একাডেমিক জ্ঞান নেই তার দ্বারা ইসলামের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিধান নিয়ে সিনেমা নির্মাণ করা কূপমণ্ডুকতার শামিল। তিনি ডাহা মিথ্যা কথা দিয়ে এ সিনেমাটি নির্মাণ করেছেন। যে সমস্ত তথ্য এ সিনেমাটিতে দেয়া হয়েছে তার সাথে বাস্তবতার কোন মিল নেই। গত ১২ জানুয়ারী ওয়াশিংটন বাংলা রেডিওতে শোয়েব চৌধুরী তার নির্মিতব্য ব্ল্যাক সিনেমা নিয়ে যে খোলামেলা সাক্ষাৎকার দেন তাও মিথ্যা দিয়ে ভরা। তিনি বলেন, “A secular government came to power in the year 2008 but things really didn’t change much at Bangladesh. Every year almost sixteen thousand Hindu Women in Bangladesh are kidnapped and converted to Islam forcefully. The numbers have not changed in the year 2011 also”. অর্থাৎ- “২০০৮ সনে বাংলাদেশে সেক্যুলার সরকার ক্ষমতায় এলেও বাংলাদেশের অধিকাংশ অবস্থার বাস্তবিক কোন পরিবর্তন আসেনি। বাংলাদেশে প্রত্যেক বছর প্রায় ১৬ হাজার হিন্দু মহিলা অপহৃত হয় এবং তারা বাধ্য হয়ে ইসলাম ধর্ম গ্রহণ করে। ২০১১ তে এসেও এই সংখ্যা কমেনি মোটেও”। এর চেয়ে জঘন্য মিথ্যাচার আর কি হতে পারে! সেক্যুলার সরকার ক্ষমতায় আসার পরে পরিবর্তনের নামে ইসলাম ধ্বংসের মহোৎসবকে আড়াল করা কিংবা এর মাত্রা আরও বৃদ্ধির জন্যই কি তার এ আয়োজন? শোয়েব চৌধুরী কি নির্দিষ্ট করে ঐ প্রত্যেক বছর অপহৃত হওয়া এবং বাধ্য হয়ে মুসলিম হয়ে যাওয়া হিন্দু মহিলার নাম বলতে পারবেন? তারা কোন গ্রামের এবং কোন বাপের সন্তান তার তথ্য কি চৌধুরীর কাছে আছে? বিশ্ব বিখ্যাত পপশিল্পী ক্যাট স্টিভেন (ইউসুফ ইসলাম), টনি ব্লেয়ারের শ্যালিকা লরা বুথসহ উন্নত বিশ্বের লাখো লাখো অমুসলিমকে কোন বাংলাদেশী মুসলিমরা ইসলাম গ্রহণে বাধ্য করছে? তিনি এরকম আজগুবি আরো অনেক কথা বলেছেন। তিনি বলেন: The oppression of the religious minorities at Bangladesh continues unabated. There were many incidents of attacks on the Hindu mandirs during the Durga puja, this year. None were reported and the governments at Bangladesh is least bothered to take up the causes for minorities. তিনি সাক্ষাৎকারে আশা প্রকাশ করে বলেন: The purpose of making the film is not at all commercial but to make people aware of what happens with the woman; once she is abducted and converted. The girl’s family is not aware of what the girl goes through after kidnapping. The film tries to answer this and in the process make people aware of the evil of this practice and the suffering of humanity. শয়তানের ভালো কথার মধ্যে যেরকম শয়তানীতে ভরপুর থাকে; কল্যাণের কিছু থাকে না, তেমনি শোয়েব চৌধুরীও তার দোসরদের নিয়ে বাংলাদেশ ও এদেশের সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ জনগণের ধর্ম নিয়ে বিশ্ববাসীকে বিভ্রান্ত করার চেষ্টা করছে। ধর্মদ্রোহী এই কুলাঙ্গারের চোখের সামনে শত শত মানবতা বিরোধী কর্মকান্ড হলেও তা তার চোখকে স্পর্শ করে না। ভারতে মুসলিম জনগোষ্ঠী যে অবর্ণনীয় দু:খ-কষ্টের মধ্যে দিনাতিপাত করছে তা নিয়ে তিনি কি কোনদিন ভেবেছেন? সভ্যতার এই চরম উৎকর্ষের যুগে গুজরাটে কয়েক হাজার মুসলিমকে পুড়িয়ে মারলেও চৌধুরীদের রক্ত পিপাসা মেটে না, উসকানিমূলক বক্তব্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশকে আরেক গুজরাট বানাতে চান। বাবরী মসজিদ ভেঙ্গে গুড়িয়ে দেয়াকে অসাম্প্রদায়িক(?) চৌধুরী সাহেব কী বলবেন? কাশ্মীর, আফগানিস্তান, ফিলিস্তিন, ইরাকে প্রতিদিন শতশত নর-নারী যে নির্মমতার শিকার হয় তা কি এই বিকৃত মস্তিস্কওয়ালা বিপথগামী সাংবাদিককে কখনো ব্যাথিত করে? জারজ রাষ্ট্র ইসরাইল যখন ফিলিস্তিনী নাগরিকদেরকে নির্বিচারে হত্যা করে, নারীদের ধর্ষণ করে, শান্তির জনপদকে অশান্ত করে, অবরোধ করে ও মানুষের বেঁচে থাকার অধিকার নষ্ট করে তখন তা নিয়ে চৌধুরী সাহেব সিনেমা তৈরী করেন না কেন? বসনিয়া, কসোভোর কসাইদের নিয়ে তার কেন মাথা ব্যথা নেই? ইসলামবিরোধীচক্র বিশেষত ইসরাইলের পালকপুত্রের কাছে ওগুলো কোন অন্যায় নয়। ওগুলোর বিরুদ্ধে বললেতো আর প্রভূদের থেকে ভিক্ষা পাওয়া যাবে না! বাংলাদেশের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলে কারা উপজাতীয়দের খ্রীষ্টান বানায় তা সবাই জানে। শুধু তাই নয় অনেক এনজিওর বিরুদ্ধে সারা বাংলাদেশে মুসলমান বালক-বালিকাদেরকে ধর্মান্তরিত করার অভিযোগ আছে। স্কুলে বালক-বালিকাদের চোখ বন্ধ করে চকলেট দিয়ে আবার চোখ খোলার পরে জিজ্ঞেস করা হয় কে এই চকলেট দিল? সবাই যখন উত্তর দেয় ম্যাডাম দিয়েছে; তখন তাদেরকে চোখ বুজে আল্লাহর কাছে চকলেট চাইতে বলা হয় এবং চকলেট না পাওয়া গেলে বলা হয় আল্লাহ বলতে কিছু নেই। কিন্তু এসব দৃশ্যকে এড়িয়ে গিয়ে ইসলামী এনজিওর বিরুদ্ধে সর্বৈব মিথ্যা অভিযোগ দিয়ে যে সিনেমা বানানো হলো তা এ দেশের সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতিকে বিনষ্ট করবে। বিশ্বের কাছে বাংলাদেশ সম্পর্কে ভুল ম্যাসেজ যাবে। ভারত, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও ইসরাইলসহ অন্যরাষ্ট্রগুলো আমাদের উপর ক্ষিপ্ত হবে। চৌধুরী সাহেব জিহাদের কি বোঝেন? জিহাদ মানে যুদ্ধ ও হত্যা নয়। জিহাদ অর্থ হচ্ছে- জন্ম থেকে মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত মুসলিমকে ইসলামের উপর টিকে থাকার চেষ্টা করা। নফস, শয়তান ও তাগুতের বিপক্ষে সত্যের পক্ষে অটল থাকার প্রাণান্তকর প্রচেষ্টার নাম জিহাদ। জিহাদ হচ্ছে- ব্যক্তি, পরিবার ও রাষ্ট্রিয় পর্যায়ে ইসলামকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করার জন্য জান মাল ও সবকিছু দিয়ে একান্ত চেষ্টা করা। হিজাব নারীর অলংকার। এটি নারীকে শোয়েব চৌধুরীর মত শয়তানদের কু-দৃষ্টি থেকে রক্ষা করে। হিজাব কখনো নারীর কোন অধিকারকে ক্ষুন্ন করে না। তবে হ্যাঁ হিজাব চৌধুরী সাহেবদের মতো ভোগবাদীদের লাম্পট্যকে বাধাগ্রস্থ করে। ইসলাম পুরুষের চরিত্রকে পবিত্র রাখার জন্য বিবাহের ব্যবস্থা করেছে। প্রয়োজন হলে শর্ত সাপেক্ষে একসাথে চারটি বিয়ের অনুমতিও দেয়া হয়েছে। তবে ইসলামের শর্ত মেনে একসাথে চারজন স্ত্রী ঘরে রাখা মোটামুটি অসম্ভব। শোয়েব চৌধুরী মূলত: বহু বিবাহের নামে ইসলামের বিবাহ নামক পবিত্র প্রথাকে বিলোপ করার চেষ্টা করছেন। ঘরে বৈধ বৌ থাকলে যে অবাধে নাইট ক্লাবে গমন, বহু নারীর সংস্পর্শ পাওয়া খুব কঠিন তা তিনি ভালো করে জানেন বিধায় বিবাহ উচ্ছেদের এই পরিকল্পনা। তার আরেক দোস্ত তসলিমা নাসরিন তার এক বইতে চৌধুরীর মতো বাবার বয়সী প্রগতিশীল পুরুষদের মহৎ(?) চরিত্রের বয়ান লিখে হৈ চৈ ফেলে দিয়েছিলেন। বাংলা সাহিত্যের আরেক দিকপাল তার মেয়ের বান্ধবীর সৌন্দর্য দেখে মুগ্ধ হয়ে সকল লাজ লজ্জা ফেলে বিয়েই করে ফেললেন। আরেক বিখ্যাত বৃদ্ধ কবির (এখন মরহুম) কাছে নাকি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রীরা রাত যাপন করার আবদার করতেন এবং তা তিনি ফেলতে পারতেন না তার মহত্বের গুণে। শোয়েব চৌধুরী কি বলতে পারবেন বাংলাদেশের কোন কোন মোল্লা একাধিক স্ত্রী রেখে তাদেরকে দিয়ে কৃষি কাজ করান? কোন মোল্লার বউ চিকিৎসার অভাবে ঘরে বসে মারা গেছেন? অবশ্য অভাবগ্রস্থ সাধারণ বাংলাদেশীদের অনেকেই চিকিৎসার অভাবে মারা যেতে পারেন, সেটি কোন বিশেষ গেষ্ঠির জন্য নির্দিষ্ট নয়। তিনি যে কাল্পনিক শান্তিগ্রামের কথা বলেছেন সে রকম কি কোন বাস্তবিক গ্রামের অস্তিত্ব এদেশে আছে? বাংলাদেশে আবহমান কাল ধরে হিন্দু, খ্রীষ্টান, উপজাতি ও অন্যান্য সম্প্রদায়ের সাথে মুসলমানদের যে সদ্ভাব বিদ্যমান আছে তার নজির বিশ্বের কোথাও নেই। এদেশে উপজাতির জন্য সরকারীভাবে কোটা পদ্ধতি চালু আছে। হিন্দুরা এদেশে মন্ত্রিত্ব করছে, এম.পি হচ্ছে। পুলিশ অফিসার, ডিসি, এসপিসহ বিভিন্ন অফিস আদালতে হিন্দুদের উপস্থিতি কম নয়। বরং কখনো কখনো তাদের ভাব দেখলে মনে হয় না তারা এদেশে সংখ্যালঘু। তারপরও শোয়েব চৌধুরীর হিন্দুদের নিয়ে যে এত উদ্বেগ তার পিছনে রহস্য কি? তিনি শুধু সংখ্যালঘু নির্যাতনের কথা বলে সংখ্যাগুরু নির্যাতনের বিষয়টিও এড়িয়ে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করছেন। মিশর, তিওনিসিয়াসহ পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন দেশে যুগের পর যুগ সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ মুসলিম জনগোষ্ঠি সেক্যুলার শক্তির দ্বারা নির্যাতিত হলেও ওদিকে তাকানোর সুযোগ চৌধুরীর নেই। সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ মুসলিম দেশ হলেও বাংলাদেশেও আজ কী ঘটছে? গুটিকয়েক নাস্তিক ও ইসলাম বিদ্বেষীদের ক্ষমতার দাপটে ইসলামী চেতনা, ইসলামী শিক্ষা, ইসলামী রাজনীতি ও ইসলামী সংগঠন আজ ধ্বংসের দ্বারপ্রান্তে। সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ জনগণের বিশ্বাস ও চেতনার প্রতীক মাহমুদুর রহমানরা আজ বন্দীশালায় ধুকেধুকে মরছে, আর তাদের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্রকারী সাংবাদিক তৌহিদী জনতার চোখে ধুলা দিয়ে বাংলাদেশে বসেই ইসলামের বিরুদ্ধে ছবি নির্মাণ করে তামাশা দেখছে! এরা মূলত সংখ্যালঘুর দোহাই তুলে সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠকে নির্মূলের আয়োজন করছে। পরিসংখ্যান বলছে, যে এলাকায় মাদরাসা বেশী সেই এলাকায় শান্তি ও নিরাপত্তা বেশী। সে এলাকায় তুলনামূলকভাবে অপরাধ সংঘটিত কম হয়। সারাদেশে এত ইভটিজিং, নারী-ধর্ষণ, এসিড সন্ত্রাস ও নারী নির্যাতন কারা করছে? ঐসব ঘটনায় কয়জন মাদরাসার ছাত্র জড়িত? রেকর্ড বলছে মাদরাসার ছাত্ররা এসব কাজে জড়িত নেই বললেই চলে। তারপরও মাদরাসার বিরুদ্ধে এত বিষোদগার কেন? কারণও সবার জানা। হান্টিংটনের গবেষণায় আগামী শতাব্দীতে পাশ্চাত্যের সামনে বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ হচ্ছে ইসলাম ও মুসলমান। অতএব বিভিন্ন ছলনায় এদেরকে নির্মূল করা চাই। বিশ্বব্যাপী মুসলিম নিধন করতে তথাকথিত মুসলিম সহযোদ্ধাদের বিকল্প নেই। শোয়েব চৌধুরীরাতো ঐ দলেরই গর্বিত সদস্য। যাইহোক ব্ল্যাক ছবিতে শোয়েব চৌধুরী যে বিষয়গুলোর অবতারণা করেছেন তার সাথে বিচ্ছিন্ন দু একটি ঘটনা ছাড়া বাস্তবতার কোন মিল নেই। শুধুমাত্র বিকৃত মস্তিস্ক সম্পন্ন বিবেকহীন নির্বোধ দিয়েই এরকম বাস্তবতা বিবর্জিত দেশ ও ইসলাম বিরোধী ছবি নির্মাণ করা সম্ভব। গত ১লা বৈশাখ তিনি ছবিটি মুক্তি দিয়েছেন। বাংলাদেশের ইসলামপ্রিয় জনতাকে তার এই হীন প্রচেষ্টাকে রুখে দিতে হবে। দেশ ও ইসলাম বিরোধী সকল অপতৎপরতাকে ঐক্যবদ্ধভাবে প্রতিহত করতে হবে। বাংলাদেশ সরকারের কাছে অনুরোধ তারা যেন এ বিষয়টিকে গুরুত্ব দিয়ে ব্ল্যাক সিনেমাকে নিষিদ্ধ করে দেশ ও ইসলামের ভাবমূর্তি রক্ষায় এগিয়ে আসেন। লেখক: সহকারী অধ্যাপক, আন্তর্জাতিক ইসলামী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় চট্টগ্রাম।

Israel Reported ‘Behind Blast’ That Killed Iran’s Missile Chief

Time’s correspondent in Jerusalem, Karl Vick, is reporting that Israel was responsible for the huge blast on Saturday at a Revolutionary Guard missile base, about 35 km west of Tehran. Vick quotes a western intelligence source as saying that Mossad carried out the sabotage attack, adding that more such attacks are to be expected –

“There are more bullets in the magazine.”

If true, it would be the most damaging blow to date in the covert war against Iran‘s nuclear weapons programme. It killed 17 Iranian revolutionary guardsmen, including the head of the missile programme, General Hasan Moghaddam, decribed in the Iranian press as “a pioneer” of Iran’s missile project [Farsi]. His official job description was head of the ‘self-sufficiency department” for munitions. The Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was at the funeral today.

Last week’s IAEA report [pdf] included a range of evidence that Iranian technicians had explored ways of making a warhead small enough to put on top of a Shahab-3 missile, which has a 2000 km range variant, the Shahab-4.

The base that was bombed was reported to be a storage site for Shahab-3 missiles, and the official media reported that the explosion took place when munitions were being moved. There was no explanation why General Moghaddam was present at the time.

Press TV quotes the head of the revolutionary guard public relations department, Lt General Ramezan Sharif, as ruling out sabotage, but then adding that an investigation into the cause of the blast is still underway.

Israeli Intelligence Sources: NATO Killed Qaddafi

German Intelligence played a behind the scenes role on behalf of NATO

An article released by the Israeli intelligence news service DEBKAfile reveals NATO allies are competing “over who will take credit for his termination and therefore for ending the alliance’s military role in Libya”. (DEBKAfile, US and NATO allies vie over “kudos” for Qaddafi’s termination, October 24, 2011.)

According to DEBKA,

“American sources are willing to admit that US drones operated by pilots from Las Vegas pinpointed the fugitive ruler’s hideout in Sirte and kept the building under surveillance for two weeks, surrounded by US and British forces.

Both therefore had boots on the ground in breach of the UN mandate which limited NATO military intervention in Libya to air strikes.” (DEBKAfile, op.,cit.)

This contradicts NATO’s claims: “No NATO ground troops have participated in the operation – NATO’s success to date has been achieved solely with air and sea assets.” (NATO, NATO and Libya – Operation Unified Protector.)

DEBKA adds:

According to the London Daily Telegraph, his [Qaddafi’s] presence in the convoy was first picked up by the USAF River Joint RC-135V/W intelligence signals plane, which passed the information to French warplanes overhead who then carried out the strike on Qaddafi’s vehicle. (DEBKAfile, op.,cit.)

The Israeli website also points out that the Germany’s Secret Service the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) “played an important role in intelligence-gathering” in revealing where Qaddafi was hiding.

The report further states:

It was generally believed in Tripoli that the strongmen ruling the capital, Abdel Hakim Belhaj, ex-al Qaeda, and Ismail and Ali al-Sallabi, heads of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood, only granted [Libya’s transitional leader] Abdul-Jalil’s wish for a big liberation rally in Benghazi after he agreed to declare the new Libya a Sharia state. (Ibid.)

This would mean that in reality, Libya’s new leaders are not the members of the National Transitional Council officially backed by NATO and promoted in the Western media as democrats. DEBKAfile‘s sources claim “the transitional leader will be little more than a figurehead”.

NATO’s stated objective in Libya has been “protecting civilians under threat of attack in Libya”. The Alliance declared that in early September “’Friends of Libya’ – heads of state and government as well as representatives of key international and regional organizations – met in Paris to discuss ways to aid Libya’s transition to a functioning democracy”. However, Western “Friends of Libya” generally see Sharia law as incompatible with democracy.

DEBKA’s report concludes:

A primary objective of the Arab Spring as promoted by the United States and the Western Alliance is the substitution of those dictatorships by fundamental Muslim regimes whose leaders quite frankly usher Sharia law in to the liberated countries. (DEBKAfile, op.,cit.)

It should be noted that, in terms of public relations, Israel would profit from the presence of another Islamic regime, since Israel’s propaganda is largely based on the exisitence of  an alleged “hostile Muslim environment” in the Middle East.

প্রতিরক্ষা উপদেষ্টার অভিযোগের পরও ধরাছোঁয়ার বাইরে মতিউর!

বারবার সরকারের ওপর মহল থেকে প্রথম আলো সম্পাদক মতিউর রহমানের বিরুদ্ধে জঙ্গি পৃষ্ঠপোষকতা ও সম্পৃক্ততা থাকার প্রমাণ আছে বলে অভিযোগ উঠেছে। তারপরও গভীর এক রহস্যময় কারণে গ্রেফতার করা হচ্ছে না তাকে। আনা হচ্ছে না আইনের আওতায়। জঙ্গিবাদের সঙ্গে সম্পৃক্তার অভিযোগ ছাড়াও প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার ওপর বর্বরোচিত গ্রেনেড হামলাকারীদের সঙ্গেও তার সম্পর্ক থাকার অভিযোগ উঠেছে একাধিবার। অথচ এরপরও তাকে গ্রেফতার করে রিমান্ডে আনা দুরে থাক, জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ পর্যন্ত করা হয়নি বা হচ্ছে না। জঙ্গিবাদবিরোধী এবং স্বাধীনতার পক্ষের শক্তির একাধিক ব্যক্তি বিস্ময়ের সঙ্গে তাদের এই ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেন। নাম পরিচয় প্রকাশে অনিচ্ছুক কয়েকজন রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষক জানান, জনগণের শক্তিতে রাজনীতিতে অভিষিক্ত গণতন্ত্রের দুই নেত্রীকে এই মতিউর রহমান ‘মাইনাস টু’ ফর্মুলার করুণ বিপর্যয় ঠেলে দেন। অথচ আজ প্রেক্ষাপট পাল্টে গেলেও সেই মতিউর রহমানকে স্পর্শ করার সাহস কারোই হয় না। তার পরামর্শের কারণে শূধুমাত্র দুই প্রধান নেত্রীই জেল খাটেননি, দেশের বড় বড় রাজনীতিবিদ, ব্যবসায়ীরাও নির্যাতন আর নানান হয়রানির শিকার হয়েছেন। তবুও জঙ্গি সহযোগী প্রথম আলোর সম্পাদক মতিউর রহমান কী এক রহস্যময় শক্তির আধারে থাকছেন। তাঁকে আজকের গণতন্ত্রের সরকারও জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের সাহস রাখে না।

তারা আরও জানান, বঙ্গভবনে বসে বর্ষীয়ান রাজনীতিবিদ রাষ্ট্রপতি জিল্লুর রহমান গভীর বেদনা নিয়ে গ্রেনেড হামলায় নিহত পত্নী আইভি রহমানের কথা ভাবেন। নিঃসঙ্গ জীবন তাঁর ক্ষয়ে যায়, তবু ওই জঙ্গিদের সক্রিয় পৃষ্ঠপোষক প্রথম আলোর সম্পাদক মতিউর রহমানকে গ্রেনেড হামলার তদন্তকারীরা কিসের জন্য রেহাই দিলেন, তা নিয়ে কৌতূহলী মানুষের প্রশ্নের শেষ নেই। এ বছর ১৯ মে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর প্রতিরক্ষা উপদেষ্টা মেজর জেনারেল (অব.) তারেক আহমেদ সিদ্দীকি প্রথম আলোর মতিউর রহমানের দিকে আঙুল তাক করে র‌্যাব ধ্বংসের চক্রান্ত ও জঙ্গি তৎপরতায় যুক্ত থাকার অভিযোগ এনেছিলেন। বলেছিলেন, ওই সম্পাদক জঙ্গিদের সহায়তা করেছেন, জঙ্গিদের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেছেন এমন প্রমাণও তাঁদের হাতে রয়েছে। তবে তিনি বলেন, ওই সম্পাদকের জঙ্গি সম্পৃক্ততার বিষয় নিয়ে অধিকতর তদন্ত হচ্ছে, কিন্তু প্রধানমন্ত্রী সাংবাদিক হয়রানি করতে চান না বলে তাঁকে গ্রেফতার করা হচ্ছে না। একজন প্রতিরক্ষা উপদেষ্টার এই বক্তব্য মতিউর রহমানের উদ্দেশ্য এবং কর্মকাণ্ড সম্পর্কে অনেক আগাম ইঙ্গিতই স্পষ্ট করে দিয়েছে। সরকারের প্রভাবশালী নৌ-পরিবহনমন্ত্রী এ বছর ২১ আগস্ট গাবতলী বাস টার্মিনালে এক আলোচনা সভায় বলেছিলেন, ২১-এর গ্রেনেড হামলার অন্যতম ষড়যন্ত্রকারী হলেন প্রথম আলো সম্পাদক মতিউর রহমান। তিনি ওয়ান-ইলেভেন পরবর্তী তত্ত্বাবধায়ক সরকারের সময় দেশের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্রে লিপ্ত ছিলেন। তাঁর মূল এজেন্ডাই ছিল রাজনীতিকে মেধাশূন্য করা। আর সেই এজেন্ডা নিয়ে তিনি আজও কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন।

রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষকররা ক্ষেভের সঙ্গে আরও বলেন, সরকারের প্রভাবশালী ব্যক্তিরা যখন এ ধরনের শক্ত অভিযোগ আনেন তখন প্রথম আলো সম্পাদক আরো বেপরোয়া হয়ে অগ্রসর হন। তখন সঙ্গত কারণেই প্রশ্ন উঠে, মতিউর রহমান কতটা শক্তিশালী? তিনি কি একটি গণতান্ত্রিক সরকারের চেয়েও শক্তিশালী? তিনি কি দেশে প্রচলিত সকল আইনের ঊধর্ে্ব? সরকারের উপদেষ্টা ও মন্ত্রীরা যখন সুনির্দিষ্ট অভিযোগ আনেন, জঙ্গিবাদের সম্পৃক্ততা যার বিরুদ্ধে স্পষ্ট, সেই মতিউর রহমান যদি থেকে যান ধরা ছোঁয়ার বাইরে, তখন সাধারণের মনে অনেক প্রশ্ন জাগাটাই স্বাভাবিক। সরকার তার যে প্রতিনিধিদের নিয়ে দেশ পরিচালনা করছেন, সেই প্রতিনিধিদের বক্তব্য সত্য হলে মতিউর রহমান কেন আইনের ঊধর্ে্ব থাকবেন ?

তারা আরও বলেন, আজ এর সুরাহা হওয়ার সময় এসেছে। কেউ কেউ যদি আইনের ঊধর্ে্ব উঠে যান, যা ইচ্ছে তাই বলতে থাকেন, করতে থাকেন, তাহলে তাহলে ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠা সম্ভব হয় না। ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্য প্রয়োজন, সবার জন্য সমান আইন। ২১ আগস্টের ভয়াবহ গ্রেনেড হামলার মতো রক্তাক্ত ও অভিশপ্ত ঘটনার সঙ্গে জড়িত_এমন অভিযোগ উঠলেও প্রথম আলোর সম্পাদককে ধরাছোঁয়ার মধ্যে না আনায় সরকারের কার্যকারিতা ও ন্যায়বিচার প্রশ্নবিদ্ধ থেকে যায়। দেশে বিরাজমান জঙ্গি তৎপরতা, দেশকে আবারো এক নতুন ষড়যন্ত্রের দিকে ঠেলে দেওয়ার তৎপরতা আর ২১-এর গ্রেনেড হামলার সত্য উদ্ঘাটন ও ন্যায়বিচার নিশ্চিতের জন্যই তাঁকে আইনের আওতায় আনা আজ জরুরি হয়ে দেখা দিয়েছে বলে বিশেষজ্ঞরা মনে করেন।

Details of an amazing American military plan for an attack to wipe out a major part of the British Army  are today revealed for the first time.

In 1930, a mere nine years before the outbreak of World War Two, America drew up proposals specifically aimed at eliminating all British land forces in Canada and the North Atlantic, thus destroying Britain’s trading ability and bringing the country to its knees.

Previously unparalleled troop movements were launched as an overture to an invasion of Canada, which was to include massive bombing raids on key industrial targets and the use of chemical weapons, the latter signed off at the highest level by none other than the legendary General Douglas MacArthur.

The plans, revealed in a Channel 5 documentary, were one of a number of military contingency plans drawn up against a number of potential enemies, including the Caribbean islands and China. There was even one to combat an internal uprising within the United States.

In the end there was no question of President Franklin D. Roosevelt subscribing to what was known as War Plan Red. Instead the two countries became the firmest of allies during WW2, an occasionally strained alliance that continues to this day.

Still, it is fascinating that there were enough people inside the American political and military establishment who thought that such a war was feasible.

While outside of America, both Churchill and Hitler also thought it a possibility during the 30s – a time of deep economic and political uncertainty.

The highly classified files reveal that huge pushes were to be made into the Caribbean and West Coast to block any British retaliation from either Europe, India or Australia.

Lindbergh to be sent covertly as a spy to the west shore of Hudson Bay to investigate the possibility of using sea-planes for warfare and seek out points of low resistance as potential bridgeheads.

But America’s foe in this war was not Russia or Japan or even the burgeoning Nazi Germany.

Plan Red was code for an apocalyptic war with Britain and all her dominions.

After the 1918 Armistice and throughout the 1920s, America’s historic anti-British feelings handed down from the 19th century were running dangerously high due to our owing the U.S. £9billion for their intervention in The Great War.

British feeling against America was known to be reciprocal.

By the 1930s, America saw the disturbing sight of homegrown Nazi sympathisers marching down New York’s Park Avenue to converge on a pro-Hitler rally in Madison Square Garden.

Across the Atlantic, Britain had the largest empire in the world, not to mention the most powerful navy.

Against this backdrop, some Americans saw their nation emerging as a potential world leader and knew only too well how Britain had dealt with such upstarts in the past – it went to war and quashed them.

Now, America saw itself as the underdog in a similar scenario.

In 1935, America staged its largest-ever military manoeuvres, moving troops to and installing munitions dumps at Fort Drum, half an hour away from the eastern Canadian border.

It was from here the initial attack on British citizens would be launched, with Halifax, Nova Scotia, its first target.

‘This would have meant six million troops fighting on America’s eastern seaboard,’ says Peter Carlson, editor of American History magazine.

WAR PLAN RED, GREEN, PURPLE…

During the 1920s and 30s, the U.S. devised several colour-coded war plans to deal with potential adversaries.

Many of these war games were submitted to the Military Information Division by officers working in their own time.

Among the contingency plans developed were:

Orange: War against Japan

Green: Against Mexico

Purple: South America

White: Domestic uprising

Black: Germany

Grey: Caribbean republics

Yellow: China

Brown: Philippines

Not surprisingly, many of these were hypothetical exercises – and provided only broad strategic outlines.

However, the planning was considered by the military to be good practice for its personnel.

‘It would have been like Verdun,’ alluding to the brutal conflict between German and French troops in 1916 which resulted in a death toll of 306,000.

Even Winston Churchill said while people regarded a war with the U.S. as inconceivable, it was not.

‘America felt Britain had thrown it under the bus in order to stay top dog,’ says Professor Mike Vlahos, of the U.S. Naval War College.

‘The U.S. was forced to contemplate any measure to keep Britain at bay.’

Even Hitler thought such a war was inevitable, but astonishingly wanted Britain to win, believing that to be the best outcome for Germany, since the UK could then join his forces to attack the U.S.

‘You have to remember the U.S. was born out of a revolutionary struggle against Britain in 1776,’ says Dr. John H. Maurer, of the U.S. Naval War College.

Using available blueprints for this war, modern-day military and naval experts now believe the most likely outcome of such a conflict would have been a massive naval battle in the North Atlantic with very few actual deaths, but ending with Britain handing Canada over to the U.S. in order to preserve our vital trade routes.

However, on June 15, 1939, the same year as the German invasion of Poland, an internal U.S. memo states these plans for an invasion were ‘wholly inapplicable’, but nevertheless ‘should be retained’ for the future.

This is now seen as the dawn of and prime reason behind the ‘special relationship’ between our two countries.

Isolationism, prosperity and decline: America after WWI

As close allies in numerous conflicts, Britain and America have long enjoyed a ‘special relationship’.

Stemming from Churchill and Roosevelt, it has since flourished – from Thatcher and Reagan, and Clinton and Blair, to the Queen and Obama.

We know now that FDR ultimately rejected an invasion of Britain as ‘wholly inapplicable’.

But just how special was that relationship in the decade leading up to WWII?

By the start of the 1920s, the American economy was booming.

The ‘Roaring Twenties’ was an age of increased consumer spending and mass production.

But after the First World War, U.S. public opinion was becoming increasingly isolationist.

This was reflected in its refusal to join the League of Nations, whose principal mission was to maintain world peace.

U.S. foreign policy continued to cut itself off from the rest of the world during that period by imposing tariffs on imports to protect domestic manufacturers.

These children were part of a squatter community, known bitterly as ‘Hoovervilles’ because of the President’s inability to even admit to the existence of a national crisis after the stock market crash in 1929

And its liberal approach to immigration was also changing.

Millions of people, mainly from Europe, had previously been welcomed to America in search of a better life.

But by 1921, quotas were introduced and, by 1929, only 150,000 immigrants per year were allowed in.

After a decade of prosperity and optimism, America was thrown into despair when the stock market crashed in October 1929 – marking the start of the Great Depression.

The ensuing economic hardship and mass unemployment sealed the fate of President Herbert Hoover’s re-election – and Franklin D Roosevelt stormed to victory in March 1933.

He was faced with an economy on the brink of collapse: banks had been shut in 32 states, and some 17million people had been thrown out of work — almost a third of the adult workforce.

And the reality of a worldwide economic depression and the need for increased attention to domestic problems only served to bolster the idea that the U.S. should isolate itself from troubling events in Europe.

When Franklin D Roosevelt was elected as President in 1933, he was faced with an economy on the brink of collapse. Banks had been shut in 32 states, and some 17 million people had been thrown out of work

However, this view was at odds with FDR’s vision.

He realised the necessity for the U.S. to participate more actively in international affairs – but isolationist sentiment remained high in Congress.

In 1933, President Roosevelt proposed a Congressional measure that would have granted him the right to consult with other nations to place pressure on aggressors in international conflicts.

The bill faced strong opposition from leading isolationists in Congress.

As tensions rose in Europe over the rise of the Nazis, Congress brought in a set of Neutrality Acts to stop  America becoming entangled in external conflicts.

Although Roosevelt was not in favour of the policy, he acquiesced as he still needed Congressional support for his New Deal programmes, which were designed to bring the country out of the Depression.

By 1937, the situation in Europe was growing worse and the second Sino-Japanese War began in Asia.

In a speech, he compared international aggression to a disease that other nations must work to ‘quarantine’.

But still, Americans were not willing to risk their lives for peace abroad – even when war broke out in Europe in 1939.

A slow shift in public opinion saw limited U.S. aid to the Allies.

And then the Japanese attack on Pear Harbor in December 1941 changed everything.

Of the thirty-one killed, twenty were members of SEAL Team 6.

More importantly, I’ve been reliably informed (by a retired Colonel, US Army intel) that these very same operatives were the men who allegedly killed Usama bin Laden recently in Abbottabad.  [NB: Seal Team 6 is an ultra-elite group of “black” operatives who exist outside military protocol, engage in operations that are at the highest level of classification, and often outside the bounds of international law.]

The official story is that the Taliban shot down the chopper. I have my doubts (as do many others far more savvy than yours truly).

According to reports from several US military personnel (a few of whom I know), Pat Tillman was assassinated by his own government. Reportedly, Tillman, the quintessential poster-boy for military recruitment, was waking up to the 9/11 lie, and was beginning to get a little too loose-lipped for his own good. Word traveled up the chain fast. Three bullets to the head fired at close range killed him. Friendly-fire indeed.]

Usama’s “recent death” brings to mind photos that made international headlines during the Iraq invasion.

Remember that iconic image of cheering Iraqis helping bring down the statue of Saddam? A Marine I know told me he had a friend who was actually there, on the ground, in that town square. Evidently, there were no more than 50 Iraqis in that “cheering crowd” — and virtually all of them were paid to participate in the photo shoot. [Did you happen to notice there was only one tightly cropped shot from just one camera angle? The rest of the square was virtually empty, save for US military personnel and equipment.]

Then there was that other classic shot, of a bearded and bedraggled Saddam crawling out of a hole with his hands pathetically held up in the air in a gesture of utter defeat. Remember that one?

Again, rigged. I’m personally acquainted with a former Marine who knows one of the guys who actually helped stage that sordid affair.

Truth is, Saddam was finally cornered in the home of one of his friends, and he fought valiantly to the last bullet. He was eventually nabbed, mussed up further (he apparently didn’t look great to begin), physically forced into the hole, and dirt thrown on him for good measure to ensure a Hollywood-grade image. That photo’s singular intent was to demoralize the Iraqi populace by showing their leader cowering in abject defeat.

Usama bin Laden’s REAL Death

It is generally known by military insiders (and others who look to alternative sources for their news) that Usama bin Laden died of natural causes in 2001. He had just returned to Pakistan from Dubai following medical treatment at the American Hospital.

As early as March, 2000, Asia Week expressed concern for bin Laden’s health, describing a serious medical problem that could put his life in danger because of “a kidney infection that is propagating itself to the liver and requires specialized treatment.”

Having taken off from Quetta in Pakistan, bin Laden arrived in Dubai and was transferred to the American Hospital. He was accompanied by his personal physician and a ‘faithful lieutenant’ (possibly al-Zawahiri). Usama was admitted to the well-respected urology department run by Dr. Terry Callaway, an American gallstone and infertility specialist.

Bin Laden was checked into one of the hospital’s VIP suites. While there, he received visits from many members of his family as well as prominent Saudis and Emiratis. During the hospital stay, the local CIA agent, known to many in Dubai, was seen taking the main elevator of the hospital to bin Laden’s floor.

A few days later, the CIA man bragged to a few friends about having visited bin Laden. Reliable sources report that on July 15th, the day after bin Laden returned to Quetta, the CIA agent was recalled to headquarters.  [NB: Contacts between the CIA and bin Laden began in 1979 when, as a representative of his family’s business, he began recruiting volunteers for the Afghan resistance against the Soviet Red Army.]

The LAST ‘Death’ of bin Laden

What the world has been told about the recent “Death of Usama bin Laden” is pitiful and laughably absurd (especially the parts about no forensic tests having been performed, and the body quickly dumped into the sea. That last doctored photo was the clincher).

Truth is, bin Laden’s bin dead a long time.

The charade in Abbottabad was one massive a psyop to provide soothing peace of mind for the American public subject to full-throttle media propaganda, while continuing, unabatedly, one of the greatest, deadliest, and most expensive hoaxes of all time: 9/11 and “The War on Terror.”

Now they are legend

And now, every single SEAL Team 6 member who was involved in the ‘assassination’ psyop is dead.

Incidentally, I had to smile when I saw one particularly amusing headline re Usama’s latest death, in the US publication Business Insider: “Meet The ‘Seal Team 6’, The Bad-Asses Who Killed Osama Bin Laden”

Well, all those hapless ‘bad asses’ are now dead.

And dead men don’t talk.

Ancient Knights Templar Name Used In Modern Criminal Crusades

A bright red cross marked the cover of a manifesto purportedly written by the suspect in last week’s terror attacks in Norway.

Nearly 6,000 miles away, Mexican police seized white robes emblazoned with the same symbol in a series of raids aimed at cracking down on one of the country’s newest drug cartels.

The Knights Templar — warriors during the medieval holy wars known as the Crusades — wore the cross insignia as they went into battle. Its red color represented the blood of Christian martyrs.

The recent modern-day interpretations of the crusaders’ ancient cause wouldn’t sit well with the original Knights Templar, according to British historian and novelist Piers Paul Read.

“They’d have been horrified. … They were very devout people,” said Read, who detailed the knights’ history in his book “The Templars.”

The knights began in the 12th century as a religious order fighting Muslims and protecting Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land.

They mostly came from Western Europe and took strict vows of poverty, Read said. But over time, their organization amassed significant wealth and property, drawing ire from citizens and royalty alike.

Amid accusations of heresy and devil-worship from France’s king, the pope dissolved the order in 1312, Read said. The group’s last leader was burned at the stake, but the story of the Knights Templar lives on, portrayed in films and popular fiction such as “The Da Vinci Code.”

Now authorities are investigating Norway attack suspect Anders Behring Breivik’s purported manifesto, which claims that another group using the Knights Templar name intends to carry out “shock attacks” across Europe in a campaign to fight Islam and “cultural Marxism.”

Authorities accuse Breivik of killing at least 76 people when he set off a car bomb outside government buildings in Oslo last Friday, then ambushed an island political youth retreat. Breivik’s lawyer told reporters that his client was “a little bit surprised” that he was able to pull off the bombing and shooting rampage, for which authorities say he has claimed responsibility.

Separately, Mexican officials blame members of a new criminal organization that use the Knights Templar name for extorting business owners, decapitating and dismembering kidnapping victims and setting vehicles ablaze to block roads during shootouts with police.

The original Templars’ noble ideals and dramatic demise give them “an aura of glamour and mystery,” said Paul Crawford, an associate professor of ancient and medieval history at California University of Pennsylvania.

Crawford and other historians argue that most fictional accounts of the group focus on unsubstantiated myths and conspiracy theories and that recent reappearances of the Knights Templar name in Norway and Mexico are just the latest attempts to manipulate their legacy.

“The drug gang and the murderer are trying to cloak the horror of their acts with the glamour and ideals of this religious order,” Crawford said.

Striving to be ‘the perfect knight’

The rambling, 1,500-page account that constitutes Breivik’s purported manifesto includes excerpts from a Wikipedia entry about the Knights Templar and pictures of sword-wielding medieval knights wearing cloaks and armor.

CNN has not independently confirmed that Breivik is the author of the manifesto, which bears his name and says it is intended to be circulated among sympathizers. The writer rails against Muslims and their growing presence in Europe, and calls for a European civil war to overthrow governments, end multiculturalism and execute “cultural Marxists.”

The author also makes numerous references to what he describes as a new incarnation of the Knights Templar, which he says was “re-founded as a pan-European nationalist military order” during an April 2002 meeting in London. The manifesto details necessary steps to become a “Justiciar Knight,” including pledging a Knights Templar oath.

“Any candidate prepared to walk this road must be willing to forfeit his materialistic ambitions and embrace voluntary poverty and martyrdom,” Breivik writes.

“You are operating as a jury, judge and executioner on behalf of all free Europeans. … There are situations in which cruelty is necessary, and refusing to apply necessary cruelty is a betrayal of the people whom you wish to protect,” he continues.

In a diary-like log of events leading up to last week’s attacks, the manifesto’s author says he is trying to set an example.

“I am one of many destroyers of cultural Marxism and as such; a hero of Europe, a savior of our people and of European Christendom — by default. … The Perfect Knight I have always strived to be,” he writes.

Crawford, the historian at California University of Pennsylvania, said such assertions show a clear misunderstanding of the Knights Templar.

“They were soldiers. They confronted Islam on the battlefield and Islam returned the favor. They did not, to the best of my knowledge, ever engage in massacres of unarmed combatants,” he said. “They were not terrorists and wouldn’t have approved of it.”

‘They want to demonstrate that they’re courageous’

The new Mexican cartel known as the Knights Templar announced its presence earlier this year. Banners hung in prominent locations — and photographed by local media — vowed to protect residents of the Mexican state of Michoacan.

“Our commitment to society will be to preserve order and prevent robbery, kidnapping and extortion, and protect the state from interventions by rival organizations,” the signs said.

For months, authorities and analysts said they suspected the Knights Templar had split from one of the nation’s most notorious criminal organizations, La Familia Michoacana — a cartel known for its mix of ruthless violence and religious ideology.

Mexico’s government said La Familia’s founder, Nazario Moreno Gonzalez, was killed in clashes with authorities last year. In a dossier released as they announced his death in December, officials described Moreno as a “spiritual leader” who used religion to strengthen his stronghold. The government file said Moreno dubbed himself the “savior of the people” and outlined the cartel’s philosophy in a “bible” provided to new recruits.

The discovery earlier this month of the white robes with red crosses and handbooks outlining a code for the Knights Templar showed further evidence of a connection with La Familia, authorities said.

“Presumably they were indoctrinating their members,” Mexican federal police spokesman Juan Carlos Buenrostro told CNNMexico.com.

For the splinter group, choosing the Knights Templar name was no accident, said George W. Grayson, a professor of government at the College of William & Mary.

“They want to demonstrate that they’re courageous and valiant, but at the same time they are generous,” said Grayson, who studies Mexico’s organized crime syndicates.

He said the alleged leader of the Knights Templar, a former lieutenant of La Familia known as “La Tuta” — the teacher — “has the same kind of religious inspiration” as Moreno.

While some of the cartels’ leaders may believe in its ideology, Grayson says others have a more pragmatic approach, using religion as a “recruiting device.”

“Now you’re at one with the Lord, even as you decapitate people and carve (messages) into the bodies of your opponents,” he said.

Promoting peace, fighting a ‘social cancer’

Another group that uses the Knights Templar name has been waging its own campaign to distance itself from the Mexican drug gang and the Norway attacks.

The international Christian nonprofit known as Knights Templar International issued a statement saying their group is not and has never been affiliated in any way with Breivik.

“Christ’s message is one of love, understanding and tolerance of all peoples of the world,” the organization said in a statement. “How Anders Behring Breivik so misunderstood and corrupted Christ’s message is beyond reason or belief.”

The organization’s Mexico chapter also issued a statement saying it has no connection to the drug gang, which it referred to as a “social cancer.” The statement lambasted the criminal group for committing acts that are “full of shame, dishonor and totally contrary to the principles of the order.”

Robert C.G. Disney, the grand commander of Knights Templar International, said the organization’s more than 6,000 members around the world regularly support charitable projects, such as helping fund reconstruction of a Muslim mosque and a Christian church in Pakistan following mudslides there.

“Obviously it’s very distressing for me and for all of our members to see our name bandied about by the drug cartel and this deranged person in Norway,” he said. “Unfortunately, we do not have exclusive rights to the words ‘Knights Templar.’ Those words have been in the public domain for almost 1,000 years.”

Members can join Knights Templar International only by invitation, Disney said, but the organization has no particular church affiliation, and provides humanitarian aid to anyone in need, regardless of race or creed.

“We have no political or religious agenda,” he said. “Our agenda is basically all about bringing about peace, reconciliation and understanding.”
